Okay ya'll, I worked for this company for 4 years, and quit abut 6 weeks ago. I haven't been able to find a new job, and now the old one wants me back. I quit because of scheduling issues which they say we can work out. The only thing Is I was so miserable there and it turned me into someone I am not. Even my friends and family notice it. Should I go back? What do ya'll think?

I think you should stay away from it. Why submit yourself to misery in a job you dont enjoy? Life is too short to be stuck for hours and hours every day doing something that is going to make you unhappy. You deserve better. If you go back you will not feel any different about the job, things will not have changed and you will most probably feel even worse about it. 6 weeks is not too long to be looking for another job, have you been actively seeking work, going to interviews etc? Or has no suitable job become available for you yet? If you are applying for jobs and not getting interviews it may be a good idea to get someone to look at your cv, it may need a bit of tweaking to make it more impressive to future employers. And if you are getting interviews but not being accepted for posts, perhaps you could look at interview technique and examine what you could be doing differently to impress them. Perhaps you could consider retraining?

I hope things work out for you, but dont give in and go back to your old job just because you think its the only option. It will not make you happy. Good luck.

Now that you are you and not someone else, you can go back. They are willing to work out the scheduling issues, so maybe they can work on the other issues with you that made you so miserable in their employ.
Just be honest with the employer.
It is worth a shot. If things do not go better, you can always quit again before you turn into someone you are not again.

hi

I used Learntosucceed.biz when I was looking for my last(current) job. They are very helpful and considerate. They charge about $30 for a Cd-rom with really helpful advice. So much better than the dummy books and others you see on the racks at barnes and noble. But the best thing is that once you buy the cd, you get the phone number to their advice line.
Here you talk to the author(a very experience business type)
who knows all the tricks of the trade. I highly recommend them.
Good luck
