Simmer slowly, stirring often. Usually several hours, but it's well worth the wait!

It depends on what you've already put in it..you can add some tomato paste, if you haven't already. Or the best thing to do is just to let it simmer, with the lid off, until some of the liquid evaporates...usually an hour or so, depending on how thin it is! This will really concentrate the flavors and give you a beautiful, thick sauce!

It is best to cook it down until thick. If you can't do that, dissolve some cornstarch in cold water and add it slowly to the rapidly boiling sauce, stirring constantly. Stop adding a little before it is as thick as you want it as it will continue to thicken when it simmers. Simmer it a few minutes to help get rid of the "starchy" taste.

Simmer till reduced and thickened.
Does not need a thickening agent.
As in making chili sauce,it may need to be simmered for several hours.
Do not put a lid on the pan and stir often as this can stick.

Leave the lid off the pan and the wider the pan the better, just leave on simmer and let it evaporate and reduce naturally. The flavor is better than it would be if you add thickener..

You an add ground beef or buy canned diced tomaotes that come in different flavors like garlic and italian seasoning which give the sauce a really good flavor.

Simmer on low heat & uncovered for a few hours. Evaporate the water until desired thickness.
Flavor will be enhanced.

My mother added canned tomatoes, simmered, added water, simmered down, added more water, simmered down. Took all day Sat.

Sun., added water, simmered down. Ready about noon-2:00 for Sun. Dinner.

Buy a can of whole tomatoes and cut them up and put them into the sauce.
Works great! Good Luck!
