My mom gave me a cat a month ago and said it "might be pregnant." Well I finally found two? maybe three? kittens under my bed. I really need help. I have no idea what to do to care for them. And how many should I be expecting? Could more come out now?

she seems to be doing very well and doesnt mind me peeking. i moved her food and water closer which she seemed glad about. i'm slightly worried about fluids/kitten poop & pee under my bed though. any chance i could move her and the babes to a better place like behind my bed rather than under so i could put blankets down? or will they just go back to the original spot? this was a complete suprise and i still cant believe it happened. how long should i wait if expecting a third? also, would anyone reccomend moving my bed just so i could get down there and try to clean the spot up/put blankets down? i'm scared to scare her and them! thank you all so much, really. its times like these yahoo answers is a gift from God. hopefully, PETCO can help me out as well.

First you should put the mother in a quiet place, like a closet, with her food, water, and litter pan. Make a bed for her with blankets or whatever just make sure the kittens can't get stuck in it. Cats like to have there privacy with there kittens. If this is her first litter she is more than likely done, you could expect one more though. If you see she isn't;t taking care of them you might need to go out and get kitten milk re-placer and bottle feed them. Hope this helps...good luck :)

Stay out of the way and let the mother cat care for her kittens.

you don't care for them their mother does. if she abandons the kittens take them to the vet or spca to be cared for properly. then set up the mama cat to get fixed at your vet
