Hi Handsome!
I don't have a religion. If I did, it would probably depress me because the dogma makes no sense.

Do you believe in George Washington?
Did you know that there is more historical evidence of the existence of Jesus than George Washington?
Why are the non-believers on this forum so full of hate, sarcasm, and vitriol? It would be nice to have a civil debate rather than a sarcastic exchange. Maybe the sarcasm is a defense mechanism for the feelings that churn inside.
God loves you all whether you love him back or not. You don't have to believe in Him either. He will still love you and is waiting for you when you are done being angry at him.

No, because the preponderance of the evidence favors His existence. God, being supernatural, cannot be studied directly), but there are too many things that we more likely acquired them from a higher being that also has them than from a naturalistic universe in which they would otherwise be absent. For example, we can sense no intelligence nor consciousness in matter itself, yet we possess both. While we can't rule out that we always possessed them or that we acquired them from a naturalistic universe that has neither, is it not a more believable scenario that we obtained them from a being that can give both because it has both itself? The same could be argued, perhaps to a lesser extent, for free will and our senses of beauty and morality (although one could argue that both are merely illusory, I would think it more likely that they seem real because they are).

It depressed me that people ask questions such as this.
It does not depress me that I believe in a religion that is historically based, supported by facts and evidence from history, logical, archealogy, ect. It also does not depress me that I am well-informed about my religious beliefs, know how to defend them with logical arguments, and am learning all the time from intelligent Christian apologists.
It depresses me when people ask ignorant questions that try to make a cheap shot against insecure Christians... it does not work on intelligent apologists and well-educated people.
If you think I am depressed that God is spirit, not a flesh-and-blood human walking on clouds, you are incorrect.

It mainly depresses me that no one else will see the light. It's so obvious that I'm right and everyone else is wrong.

You can get legs there to replace the ones people broke off of yours, and you can also get some for the poor Jesus and 'Truth' fishes that are being held back evolutionarily by their lack of legs.

My religion is not based on my diet, and my stomach is proof enough of it! But yeah, the size of my stomach is indeed depressing.

No. The existence of love can't be proven either, but that doesn't mean it isn't real. Believing in something or someone without proof is a leap of faith that isn't confined to religion. I believe in gravity, even though I can't see it. I believe in time, even though I can't actually see it passing. I believe there is an honest car salesman somewhere, even though I have never seen one, never heard of anyone who has seen one.

Certainly not. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and nothing can shake that. Unless you have experienced the presence of the Lord, you can't understand how we can know it's true, yet we can't 100% prove it, any more than Atheists can prove there is no God. Faith ( trust) in God is a powerful thing.

Psalm 53:1 -- The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.
Does that verse depress you? Nothing about being a Christian and worshipping God depresses me. On the contrary, He uplifts me. I wouldn't expect Him to be proven. Then faith would be moot.
John 20:29 -- Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Of course it does! How many truly joyful Christians have you met? Religion is their Prozac, they wish they didn't need it bit it makes their lives a little more bearable. For most Christinas they wouldn't know God if he smacked them upside the head.
