In I Timothy 3 : 1-8, greed is mentioned twice as something those who serve God should not be guilty of. Ephesians 4:19 mentions greed in the same sentence with uncleanness. So' it's really something God dislikes strongly.

There are many references and stories in the bible that site greed or selfishness, as for 7 deadly sins there are no real references in the bible to 7 deadly sins and only one specific sin in the bible is referenced to being unforgivable. In the bible god tests many kings and high figures and the most sitable off the top of my head is King Nebakanezzer and the punishment thereof being forced to live as an animal. Greed also forces one to lose the perspective that god will provide for yoru needs.

It's one of the "six, no seven" things that God despises.
Hard to justify greed when we try to remember that God is the owner, and we are only the stewards.
And also...being greedy is saying "God, I don't trust you to take care of my needs, so I'll go about my own way to satisfy my wants".
And how many parents haven't had to teach their kids the difference between "want" and "need".

For Christianity its one of the Seven Sins.
For Judism to be a Jewish you should be Greedy.
