Q -- "What would you do if you truly learned God did exist?
Not just that you believed that God existed, but there was incontrovertible proof?"
A -- I'd say, "Oh, WELL. That's the... way it goes! C'est la vie!"

Then I would believe in the existence of that God.
My next order of business would be to determine if it was aware of us, and if it is, is it at all concerned with what we do. Is it offering us any rewards? What does it want in exchange?
And so on. It's not just the existence of a god that is pure speculation, it is everything about its nature. Who's to say that if the universe was created by a being, that it intended to produce us? That it wants to be worshipped? That it gives a rat's @ss about us? That we can even comprehend its thoughts?

Eh, I already don't believe in him. so I'll be good :]. Guess I'll get to be able to tell a few people "Toldya so!"
EDIT: Oh. Dang. I thought this question went the opposite way. Damn
Okay... Well, that guy's going to have a lot to answer for, not helping me out before.

That would require a face to face meeting for me and then I would drive Him/Her crazy by asking a thousand questions.
But no one else would believe unless they also had this meeting and so that is the story of why God told us all to shut up and enjoy the ride or else He would turn this car around and we would all be sorry!

If I learned Moses' god Yahweh did exist, I'd have a heart attack at such an impossible thing happening. If I survived, I'd just tell him I prefer Zeus to him and to leave me alone. if he made silly threats, i'd go and tell his Daddy on him and call a psychiatrist to restrain this psychopatic maniac who wants to burn anyone forever who diagrees with him.

well, for one thing, I'd have a lot of questions to ask him, like why he didn't just make it known sooner, sheesh.
but i think beyond that this answer is a little pointless - is ANYONE going to say "i'd keep being an athiest in the face of undenyable proof"? i doubt it.

My reaction would depend upon exactly WHICH god had proof of existence. I'm pullin' for Quetzalcoatl.

I would invite him to afternoon tea on Sunday. Just because we now have undeniable proof doesn't mean we should prostrate ourselves and start begging for forgiveness.
