I am 22 years old and I have a GED but I want to go back and get my HS diploma. I completed every thing up to 11th grade just didnt go for my senior year. Am I too old? Any teachers or anyone who knows anything on the subject please answer me back.

Alot of jobs look down on a GED. They dont say it but you can tell. Also some jobs wont take GED's some say HS diploma only. In my state you can go to a large university on just a GED but its more for the fact that I can say yes I have my HS Diploma. Also down the road when I have kids and there in HS and say they dont want to finish. What can I say since I dont have my Diploma either. Just some of my thoughts on the situation.

No, you aren't too old, and good for you for taking this step. Can you support yourself for the year? If so, just contact your local high school and find out what their requirements are. If you have to work during this time, you might want to do your grade twelve by homeschooling or by correspondence courses. Good luck to you.

You're probably too old - it will depend on the state. Also, a GED is the equivalent to a high school diploma. In fact, in many ways, it's more respectable, because you need to pass a test for a GED, but in a lot of places, just showing up and behaving gets you a high school diploma.

There might be some way to attend and get your HS diploma in a community college but usually not in a traditional high school. I don't know what state you're in, but in NC you can't because when you turn 21 they let you go.

once you have hit the age of 21.. it is illegal to enter back on schoolground properties. I think its the whole minor/adult age issue thing. They dont want grown adults in the same classroom as minors.
Your GED is basically the same thing as your HS diploma.. it shows that you have finished school.
Both of these are accepted credentials for entering most jobs, colleges, and universities.

You can probably do it by correspondence. I took a few high school classes online (Texas Tech) to graduate early. I know that my high school doesn't allow students over 21 to be enrolled in regular classes (unless they're undercover cops...friggen narcs...ugh.) But, yeah. You should probably talk to a counselor at your local high school, I mean they would probably be able to provide the most information. Especially since stuff like that varies so much between states and school districts.
