tricologist study hair which is tricology. they can determine the problems of excessive hair growth or why you don't grow enough hair. they study what makes the color or hair and what makes it turn grey. you can also hear it is called lythology, histology, phytology. there are a lot of interesting things you can learn about hair. what makes it grow fast, how it holds it shape, why is it curly or straight. you should really check into it. i did to find out why my hair is turning grey at such a young age. i learned lots about hair. i also know how to better care for my hair. you should never use a brush that has little bristles on it. a comb with wide teeth are the best or just even a regular comb for guys. i also do not comb my hair much when it is wet i use my fingers more to comb through my hair to prevent split ends. many girls do not realize how much damage they do to their hair. hairspray is really bad for your hair. your hair needs to breath just as we do. it is weird. also shampoo that foams a lot is bad for your hair.

Since hair isn't a living organ, I do not think that there are any medical doctors that study it. If you need medical advice, a dermatologist will be your best bet. There are people who study hair for a living, but they are PhD's, not MD's, and they work for Universities or hair care companies. You could find one by checking with the society of cosmetic chemists: www.scconline.org

While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. Learn here https://tr.im/hmf9H

Many people with hypothyroidism experience crippling fatigue and brain fog, which prompts reaching for non-nutritional forms of energy like sugar and caffeine. I’ve dubbed these rascals the terrible twosome, as they can burn out your thyroid (and destabilize blood sugar).

1. Just say no to the dietary bungee cord. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. Make grain-based carbohydrates lesser of a focus, eating non-starchy vegetables to your heart’s content.

2. Up the protein. Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; quinoa; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products (organic, grass-fed meats, eggs, and sustainably-farmed fish); and legumes.

I don't think there's really such a thing. The skin is an immensely complicated organ with a lot of potential disorders and illnesses, so a lot of study has been devoted to it. Your hair is dead matter, just a mineral substance. I mean you get tricologists who study hair but I don't think there's such a thing as a hair "doctor".
