Two weeks ago I would have answered I guess not. After going to a family wedding which exemplefied my ancestors gifts to the world, I would say they had a very distinct purpose.
I'm proud to be part of this family and it has given the world an immense gift.

A purpose beyond existing, certainly, but that purpose would be unique to each one of them. In some cases, their purpose might have been to be good parents, others might have been to be war heros, still others' purpose might have been to be good in their profession. I am sure all of them had the purpose of being of benefit to the community in some way.

The the basic scheme of things, no. All species are on the planet to reproduce and keep the species alive. Humans do a lot more than that, but at a biological level, that's pretty much it.

Sometimes I wonder because they were in to witchcraft. I did not receive a very good religious heritage. But, for some reason I do not understand God chose to bring me down through this generation. I am thankful in the way that I have experienced both the good and bad in the spiritual realm. I feel I can relate to more people because of this. I am most thankful that He saved me from satan and curses.

i think everyone has a purpose aside from breeding and spreading genes and making a better life for those offspring. I think we all also have an obligation to your communities, friends, and family to treat each other with respect and love. but hey, that's just me.

I believe that our main purpose on earth is the propagation of the species. My ancestors did their job and I did mine and hope full those that follow me will do theirs. All the things we do (work, play, fight, compete, etc) are directly in support of mating in order to continue the species.

We have a responciblity to the lives of those in the future. Living up to it is hard as I imagine our ancestors found it hard.

Yeah...they lived and fought, they died, they gave birth to more of my ancestors. They had their own purposes in life that just so happened to come up with me. I thank them for it.

Sure, they existed to hunt Mastodons...otherwise we would be overrun with the big beasties to this very day.
