It's a well known fact that charities that support the teaching of evolution are tax deductible. Religious organizations are also tax deductible. This proves that charities that support the teaching of evolution are religious organizations, and that evolutionism is a religion!

I know that people will say that I am making a logical fallacy by using the the truth of the consequent of a conditional to infer the truth of the antecedent. But those people will be using big word like "fallacy," "consequent," and "conditional."

My hope is that people are confused by these big words, and don't understand why my argument is incorrect. If people ignore the obvious flaws in my argument, they might actually believe it. Hopefully, none of those people are reading this far down in the details, or they might realize how bad my argument is.

Evolutionastics: Isn't this a good argument that evolution is a religion as long as I ignore the flaws?

You should probably just report anyone who understands the meaning of the word "fallacy". That way, you can pretend they don't exist!

I've got a good vocabulary, so your big words don't scare me. Your logic is deeply flawed, to the point that it isn't even really logic. By "charities" that "support the teaching of evolution," I assume you mean public schools, since they are supported by tax dollars. Schools are teaching science, of which evolution is just one part. They also teach literature, math, and many other subjects. Does that make those religions as well? The basic difference between religion and science is that religion is fiction and science is fact. The other difference is that science continues to change as more is learned, and that scientists are usually very willing to adjust their theories when presented with evidence that disproves them. Religion never, ever does that.

Dude get off the Drugs!!!! Evolutionists: is a measurement such as in time and growth. Like Man well there are exceptions ya know to everything. Look at Computers and how fast it went from 18" reels loaded with 1/2-1" magnetic tape and punch cards and taking up a large amount of Office Space plus you needed a specialist aka Computer Programmer plus operators to run it. To what you have today that either sits on a Desk Top at home or on your lap on a plane trip. and what it was with tape to what we have today now that is what you might call rapid Evolution and how fast that grew or Evolved and it continues. So stay offf the Psych. Drugs and i mean the 60's drugs or go see your Doctor and have him increase your dosage. It ain't no damn religion you hippy!!!! heehee

Ignoring all the obvious flaws in an argument is how all major religions survive.

I love the literal response at the top. Why do the fundies always answer humorous posts with an attempt to be mean? It's like they wear blinders and cannot post anything that does not demean people who believe differently than they do. I like you post by the way...excellent argument, ahem...well, ok not excellent per se...but funny!

So you're saying that if I looked in a dictionary, Religion would be defined as "Those beliefs that the United States of America grants a tax-deductible'?

Q -- "Evolutionists: Is this proof that evolutionism is a religion?"

A -- To keep it simple, and overlook your "details," the answer is that there's no more such a thing as "evolutionism" than there is such a thing as "gravity-ism." Both evolution and gravity are ongoing aspects of science. (As all **intelligent** people know full well.)

Well... there is also the point that if people hear something repeated often enough, it becomes 'truth'. And that bad logic is indistinguishable from good logic by people who don't understand logic at all.

Keep up the good work.

Proven: spiders hear with their legs.

If you make a loud noise near a spider it runs away.
But if you cut off a spider's legs and make a loud noise next to it, it doesn't run away.
Therefore spiders hear with their legs.

I don't like big words*
I just draw little pictures**

Nice sarcasm, I think.
My hope is that people will learn to recognize obvious logical fallacies like this.
