This goes to what 'believe' means to me. I consider myself a red-letter Christian, being more influenced by the words of Christ, than the interpretations of the New Testaments writers...

"I am the way, the truth, and the life..." Christ was God in corporeal form, the height of perfection that every human falls short of. He is an example of how to live our lives... and the message that I was left with after reading the New Testament several times was the word 'LOVE'.

I truly believe in Christ, His message of love, acceptance and forgiveness. Belief is useless without action. Often falling short of this standard is just part of my realization that I am not perfect and that I also have to love, accept and forgive myself while always trying to do better.

Peace

Well, I don't believe in Jesus, despite the ever increasing peer pressure.

My husband does, and I can say that it is definitly not because everyone else does.

There are some that I met that are Sunday only Christians - they only seem to believe in Jesus when they are on their way to church, during the service and then soon forget while they are sipping on their coffee. Go figure.

I believe in The Christ and God Almighty because I called out to Him in the middle of my suffering and He answered me in a way that cannot be explained away.

Therefore, I believe because He has given me a personal testimony of Him. You will find that most Christians who truly believe have had a similar experience.

I was under the impression that there were many people who denied that they believed in Christ. Did they somehow convert and I wasn't informed of this?

I strongly believe in the "actions" of Christ.

Unfortunately most people who say they believe in Christ lack the action.

I'm looking around...let's see...I'm in a foreign country where Christianity is barely a blip on the radar.....so...run that past me again as to how I'm "just going with the crowd"?

Oh...yeah...forgot...page 14 of "Christianity on a budget" says "why not do it...you'll be the odd one out, and no one will invite you to their birthday parties."

Next thing I know I'll be asked if I'm Christian because Scripture has promised me smooth skin, pearly white teeth and a slim figure! *chuckle*

The people that do ,they do OUT OF FEAR, they think if they do not believe in him, God will send them to be tortured forever and ever in a hell fire.
That is the only reason why they believe, they are brainwashed, programmed by the churches, scared into believing that an ALL LOVING GOD, if they do not comply will be sending them to live an afterlife in a pit.

Not everyone else is. As a teen I tried to find some good reasons not to believe. I questioned the belief and researched the subject and could not find any convincing enough argument to not believe.
I am not sure who I am offending-those who have never questioned their faith or those who are non believers that are upset that I find their arguments unconvincing. In any case I feel that "Seek and ye shall find" included questioning your own belief system for any flaws-don't you?
