what would you do if the contract at your job ended and they were supposed to extend it by this past friday -- they did not -- and now they're telling you to come to work on Monday and they'll talk to HR (but there's no proof that you will get paid or that they will even do what they say as they are full of ****)...? Would Monday be your last day (even if you do NOT have another job) or do you keep going to work in hopes that they'll get their lying, lazy butts together enough to do as they promise?

this has been going on for months. they've known my contract was ending and no one seems to care. I even had to bring it up on friday that it's my last day... they could care less... and I highly DOUBT that they'll do anything on monday either. I have no idea what to do... :-(

Start looking around for something else, but I would keep going. I doubt they would not pay you, especially since they told you to show up. There are probably some legalities surrounding that as well (not paying you) even though you are a contracted employee.

My 2 cents. Good luck!

Give them the benefit of the doubt and go in on Monday, especially if you want to continue at the job. Talk to them or talk to HR directly if you can. It kind of sounds like you really don't like the job, so maybe you can start looking for something better, but why not try to keep this one going while you are looking.

I would not quit until I had another job line up. Me, personally cannot be jobless and get by. Plus, what if you do not find a job right away and it takes months. Or You cannot find a job so you settle for any old job to have a job. Find another job and then quit would be my best advice. I hope all works well either way it goes.

Sounds like you are pretty tightly wound.

If they said to come in Monday so they can talk about it then go in and talk about it. Sounds like you will be working out the details on Monday.

You'd better dump this " lying , lazy butt" thought quick! Itf you take it with you to an interview, it'll show and you will blow away any chances you have of getting a new job.

if its a small business, then probly not. If its a major company then you probly should. If you dont know if ur getting paid, then u might as well work there for now if you have no other job. Look for another one.
