When I was in college I remember reading about an orphanage where the nuns conducted a study group. They studied 2 groups, a group of children who received love and
attention and a group that received little attention. I wanted to read more about this study but I cannot remember the name of orphanage, etc.

I doubt that any legitimate religion would condone such an absurd "study".

Unless you can indicate a legitimate source where you heard this, I suggest you give up finding out anything about it, as it is probably just hearsay or an urban legend or hoax, or you misunderstood something.
