The kitten can be confined to a small room with a separate litter box and food/water bowls. The two can smell each other under the doorway, and they'll adjust to each other better that way because it stops confrontations.

It helps to put bedding that each cat has used into the room with the other so the smell of both animals is in both rooms, making things seem a lot more normal for each cat.

Give them time, they'll adjust.

You should keep them separated anyway since the little one is too young to go to the vet yet. I would make sure they stay apart until the kitten is 8 weeks and you can have him tested and vaccinated. After that, you can slowly introduce them to one another.

try separating them for a while where they can hurt each other, but can also see so they know that they're going to live or be with the other cat for a while

everyone and a while, try to bring them closer and closer until they are comfortable with each other
