she does not go out much ...but day dreams about finding a husband !!! Think she is a bit too picky as she wants only an Italian guy ...and most of the ones she meets are married !
Question : How do you think I can help her become more active get off the sofa and get herself a life ...in that way finding someone .?

and no joema I am 30 much younger than her ...but when someone is in your family and complains non stop about not being able to find a guy ...

that's my girl. wish i was Italian haha. just get her to go out with u. take her to ballgames or something. go to mall and just get her out. movies/lunch. put her in the scene. get her to mingle. strip club hahahaha no not that but get her out man. thanks for being concerned for her.

Getting her out of the house is the first step. What are her interests? She'll have more fun, be more relaxed and open to new opportunities if she is participating in something she enjoys.
Maybe there are some classes she'd like to take? Getting outdoors and enjoying nature can be a good way to meet a man. How about checking out singles activities in your neighborhood. Maybe she belongs to a church, etc.? They often have singles activities.
Having a sense of humor about meeting Mr. Italian Right is important, too! Reading personal ads (Craigslist, local newspaper, online dating services like Match.com...) can be fun for the two of you, and she might even find someone of interest.

Well firstly she needs to stop being so picky. Try and find out the reasons she wants an Italian man. Maybe she likes the qualities of Italian men, maybe it's a fantasy. Whatever the reasons she needs to get out more, take her to places for dinner etc, out for drinks, get her to meet guys out and about.
If it comes to it, tell her u really need her advice but want a neutral atmosphere, say you'll meet her in the pub. Talk about ur job and ur life and get her to open up. Sorry I can't be more help x

If being almost 40 and not finding the guy of her dreams yet does not make her change her standards, you surely won't. Maybe you could treat her to a vacation in Italy. Good luck with that!

The only way she will meet anyone is getting out of the house.. Try taking her to the mall and shopping for a new outfit maybe new clothes will make her feel better about herself and she may want to go out to show off her new clothes.. I know I always feel better in a new clothes...

Invite her to go out with you. If she is forty, it is likely that most of the people her own age are already married. She may be sitting on the sofa because she doesn't want to go out alone.

surprise her with a trip to italy, there's plenty of italians there and most of them are pretty romantic...and 40 is like 30 for them....either that or go out to a bar.

If she asked for your help what you could do is help her set up accounts on some dating websites. That way, she doesn't HAVE to go out. She could join a gym or take a class. But may I stress that if she has not asked for you to intervene, DON'T.

Ask her to go out with you somewhere because you don't want to go by yourself........take her to a strip club & show her a good time,I did my mother & she loved it!!Good luck>

It sounds like she is pretty happy with her life as it is. Otherwise she would be out trying to change it. You could invite her out occassionally, but don't pressure her. She is really doing what she really wants.
