Soz but i cant eat haggis,we cooked one here and it almost exploded out of its sock thingy its in,i also read the ingredients and they put lungs in it ''gulp''

Turnips, carrots and swede mash lovely. Add a bit of offal and you've got a haggis.

Yes is the simple answer.
I am a Geordie, where we call turnips "snazzies", and a raw snazzie, peeled with a pen-knife as a lad was a fine snack, pinched from the feilds.
Mashed or crushed snazzies in butter with whatever are fine.
Roast snazzies are better, though.
I shall try bunging in some leek & carrots.
That sounds fine, so thanks for the thought.

They certainly are. Im having mediterranean chicken and cous cous in an effort to be more adventurous today. But I may return to the traditional sunday dinner next week just so I can have that.

Yummy. Also mashed with potatoes. My friend mashes turnips with apple sauce, sounds weird but I tried it once and it was suprisingly nice.

Yeh and you can add sweet potatoe or butternut squash too- yum!! Also veg. haggis is not done in a sheeps stomach (not lungs!!) and tastes good too!

yes its lovely, haggis is also nice, as long as you don't think about what you're eating. At least its not tripe-that stuff is foul!!
