hard to say what car is the safest one. volvo and mercedes both have been making advances in the safety field for decades, as have all other manufacturers. thus to say that a particular car is safer than another is next to impossible, especially since all the automakers have to meet a minimum safety standard. to an extent though, the bigger the vehicle the safer it will be in an accident since there is more mass to absorb energy.
