It's no worse now than at any other time. Just take the trip, and once you get here, you'll realize what a great place this is, and that the city's residents are not living in fear. You're simply running into the anxiety that anyone has before visiting an unfamiliar place.

Sure, it's always a possibility, I won't say that it certainly won't happen. But really, the chances of getting caught up in something like that are minuscule, even if something does actually happen; it's such a HUGE place. You're more likely to be struck by lightning, get in an auto accident, have things like that happen.

Life has its dangers. I've traveled all over the U.S.; would we be hit by a tornado in the Midwest? An earthquake on the west coast or in Alaska? A rockslide in the mountains? A hurricane by the Gulf? A flash flood in the southwest? Heat stroke in the desert? A crime in a big city or a tiny remote town? An animal attack in the wilderness? A tsunami on the coast? Would we break down in some remote area?

We've had problems along the way, and fixed every one of them. And I have always felt very safe here in New York; pre-9/11, post-9/11, and even very soon after 9/11 happened. The authorities here are on the ball, and they are truly the best at what they do.

We cannot live our lives passing up opportunities like that because of fear. Take the darned trip and be another one of those millions of visitors who have come to New York, enjoyed it as an experience of a lifetime, and returned home safely to tell the stories, show the pictures...

...and want to come back again.

Don't pass it up. You will regret it over time, trust me.

The dirty bomb threat was bogus. Nobody can ever promise you'll be 100% safe. My personal feeling is they'll never see the next attack coming. But, come, have fun, live life. That's what New Yorkers do. We have a lot more trouble with heavy rain than we do with bomb threats. Weather has caused a lot more problems lately than anything else.
You'll be fine.

No, don't be scared of these "dirty bomb threats". I went there last year and had a blast. I can't wait to go back.

It's a nice, safe, clean city with friendly people. Nothing's in chaos so you can relax and enjoy your trip.

The more you think about it, the more you'll be paranoid. So let it go, chill out, and bring back lots of souvenirs for your family and friends, because you WILL get back home.

No. The people behind the threat want that. Have fun and don't worry about it. If you get a chance to see a Broadway show, I highly recommend it. I would love to go back to NYC.

Look at it this way . since the day the Russians got their first nuclear bomb back in the late 40's New Yorkers have always lived with the knowledge that we were at everybody's ground zero and it hasn't ever stopped life from going on here and it shouldn't stop yours either
You'll be fine .Enjoy NY

Go and enjoy your trip! Never allow fear to dictate what you do and rule your life. You could become paranoid.

People who know what they are doing, and who have our well-being in mind, take care of these things.
