Okay. So I had an interveiw at coles bookstore. im just in highschool. they said they'd call by friday. i cant wait, i want to know if i even have a chance.so here are the details. They are hiring 6 people. i wore a knee length white and olive green skirt, white tank top with white button up sweater and white flats. i answered the questions, but didnt go super prepared cause i didnt want to be fake. I knwo i didnt do the best i could, not at all.. some things really caught me off guard, like "define team spirit" and sutff like that. I was reeeally shy because i was so nervous. i was so shy they said it could be a problem, but i assured them im usually a people person. Now, my friend also got an interveiw there the day before me, and got called the same day and got the job. she said she wore regualr clothes from stitches, was a little shy. so, she got the job the same day she got interveiwed.. does this mean i wont get it? ughhhhhh im so worked up, i want this job so bad.

Not sure why you are all wrapped up about the clothes. If you wore clothes that looked professional, then thy should have had no bearing on the interview.
If they have a history of hiring people during the interview (like your friend), then you are either a "maybe" or a "no".

You have a chance. I couldn't say what they're looking for, and I don't know how the other interviewees did. It sounds like it went fine for you, so it's going to be a matter of them continuing to interview to see if they find enough people who they feel are more fit than you. They just want the best employees that are available, and "best" is subject to their judgment.
Find stuff to do. Go on with your life until they call. So far, every hour has had 60 minutes and every minute has had 60 seconds. I don't think you stressing is going to change that now. They'll call when they call.
I hope you get the job and do well in it. If you don't, however, don't be discouraged or upset: on the contrary, be proud that you went into that interview. Be glad that you are now that much better at interviews. Be confident that you'll apply that understanding at your next interview and get the job.
Good luck!

Do you think your interview went well? By experience I can tell that that is a bad sign. it's a good idea not to be fake though, but a little preparation could show that you are interested in the job and the area you are going to work within. It seems to be a good idea to call the company and put some pressure on them, That also shows that you are indeed very interested in the job. Go do it right now. Pick up the phone and dial that number! You might want to say something like, 'hi, my name is so-and-so. I was at an interview at your office then-and-then. How is my application coming along?'

It is hard to say. When I used to work for Smoothie King, we would interview a few people and pick the best choice. It also depended on what we were looking for, day shift (which is bad for high schoolers), weekend and nights (perfect for high schoolers), availability (someone that can work at least 3 days a week-> someone that was not committed to a sports team, etc), if they had a ride to work, etc. We also would hire trusted employees friends and family. So you may or may not get the job now, but with your friend working their may help you get the job in a few months. Shyness is and is not an issue, depending upon who is hiring you.
Good luck, and if you do not get the job, there are other jobs out there.

If they didn't call you on Friday and your friend got the job immediately, chances are you haven't got the job. On the other hand they maybe deciding between you and another candidate!
If you haven't got the job don't worry there are plenty of jobs out there!
It might be worth writing to the company and asking them for feedback about your interview, you are entitled to know why you didn't get the position. Remember an interview is about first impressions and I would advise that you do prepare for an interview. In the future find out information about the company (maybe on a company website) and have questions to ask, employers really like that! I ask questions like, 'what training would be given if I'm offered the position?' and 'what is the next step in the hiring process?'
Anyway hope this helps and finders crossed that they will call!!

I hope you get the job, but I'm afraid your prospects there are not looking good.
It sounds like you dressed fine, so don't worry about that.
Interviewers will often ask a question you are unprepared for ("define team spirit" ???). But so will customers. Just do the best you can.
It's OK to be nervous and shy, but you do need to sell yourself at an interview.
Do you have an adult friend (a neighbor?) who would let you do a make-believe interview? That person could probably give you some good comments.
Good luck.

I seriously doubt that you are getting a job there. Don't worry about it. Who knows why some people are hired and others aren't? I recommend that you join BPA (Business Professionals of America) or DECA (Distributive Education Clubs or America), if your high school has a chapter.
These are clubs that revolve around business. You would learn how to interview and how to appear businesslike. They even go to State and National competitions. You could get the chance to travel. At the very least, you would be far, far better in your next interview.
