Absolutely! The Pomeranian is a natural extrovert, enjoying the company of human, or canine companionship, making them one of the most popular Toy Breeds. The Pomeranian adores being pampered and petted, but also, loves to be active and playful. The Pomeranian is affectionate and faithful little dog who make an excellent companion. They are, also, highly intelligent, eager to learn, and love to work. Pomeranians are happy and a relatively, friendly breed, but they are known to be tempermental at times. Like many of the Toy breeds, Pomeranians have plenty of energy and are not afraid to use it. They are not the type of dog to laze around, and enjoy staying active whenever they can. Therefore, regardless of where you live, Pomeranians will find ways to get the exercise they need, as they are extremely active indoors. Thus, even if you live in an apartment, or are unable to provide the dog with plenty of outside exercise, the dog will not suffer from this. Furthermore, they are great with children and can be trained easily at a young age. I mean, some people may not like Pomeranians because of their temper, but that's their opinion. I personally, love pomeranians, and I'm getting one in September 13! :) If you're looking forward into a lap dog, Pomeranians love to bark, which makes them excellent watchdogs. On the other hand, if you let the barking get out of control, it won’t be long before the barking wears your patience. But, overall, they're absolutely amazing dogs, and even if people say they're not, your opinion is what matters, not what anyone else says. I'm just telling you what I've experienced in my shelter and what I know, and I wouldn't make this stuff up. Dogs are wonderful creatures, especially of any breed. It doesn't matter by breed or size, all dogs are friendly if you treat them correctly. Oh my gosh, thinking about Pomeranians is making me excited. I'm getting one, and if you experience my amusement of excitement, you might consider getting one, as well, if you want!

Hi. My mom just got a pomeranian and she says it is adorable and fisty, but extremely friendly. I think Poms are no different then any other breed. If you give them early socialization techniques, they will be friendly. Introduce them to other pets when you walk them (remember they are very tiny...only 4-8 lbs at full growth). So they are very delicate.

The akc web site, located at www.akc.org has the Pomeranian listed this month, as "Breed of the Month" on their front page. So when you go to this web site...it's the third item down on the middle of the page. Just click on this and it will give you tons of information.

Hope you enjoy your new puppy.
Many blessings, patti

Like all dogs it depends on how they were raised. the general Pomeranian depends on if you are a threat to them. Other wise they are are soo friendly and loving that you just can't stop patting them. I have one that seems to say to me all the time "Lets talk about how pretty I am." They do think they are bigger than what they are though.

It goes both ways. A spoiled, untrained, unsocialized pom is likely to not be very friendly.

A trained, socialized pom, is more likely to be friendly.

It comes down to a few things, breeding, socialization and training.

We had 2 for numerous years (over ten). One barked slightly extra advantageous than the different. yet neither grow to be excessively "yappy" they have been the two playful, yet favorite to play with one yet another, basically consenting to play with the human beings whilst the different canines grow to be no longer around/preoccupied. I in no way observed the two of them aggressive to human beings or canines. They do choose a brilliant form of interest. and tend to do ultimate in a house with a stay-at-abode guy or woman. no longer that they could't be left on my own. yet poms that are left on my own too plenty tend to be extra worrying. which could advise extra barking and "undesirable" behaviors. sturdy success o! and justin probably had a element. the male we had grow to be particularly a humper. he had a crammed skunk that ....have been given lots of positioned on and tear and tear. many times contained in the direction of the front room each and every time travellers got here to visit (or it appeared that way a minimum of)

I've had two and I LOVE them. They're very friendly, but also a very good judge of character. They may be apprehensive toward others for good reason.

Yes, they are friendly, but you must socialize them. Both of mine are very friendly. They love other people and other animals, but I have frequently exposed them to it.

They are friendly, but very high energy and yappy dogs. They're great and cute little fluffy dogs.

You can not judge a dog by it's breed because they all have different personalities. I have a German shepherd who would lick anyone to death if he had the chance and he loves everybody but my previous German shepherd would probably kill anyone who went near me.
