my brother commited suicide in 1971,after he went to church and tried to become a good person, but he was rejected by people claiming to be christians. it was not God, but the judgemental church. my father never put his foot again in the church, but he never became an atheist. he regularly read his bible and trusted in God, i saw how he lived,by following Jesus and he was blessed in his life, but for the church. read matthew 23 what Jesus said about the church.

i forgot to mention, my brother was gay

Because satan thrives off of people being hurt/sadness/darkness and it gives him a chance to make the person feel so far away and out of reach of anyone and even God that the person feels like there is no way out other than suicide. Satan wins. He has a purpose, to try to beat God. He wants people on his side not Gods side.

Because they are weak and lack the faith to stand up. There are far more people who are worse off than people who commit suicide. God doesn't give us problems. It is the people who always find a problem to every solution that problems really lie.

God does not give us more than we can handle - we just don't have a clue as to how to handle it. If we knew how to handle everything that God threw at us then we would become like God.

Or how about the India Ocean Tsunami about 2 years ago. I guess those quarter of a million people were able to handle it --- for about 10 seconds before they died.

Because you didn't finish your initial statement. God doesn't give us more than we can handle when we fully place our trust in Him. But none of us can handle even the ordinary events of everyday life very well without His grace.

When you are a Christian and you are walking in the promises of God, you know that though my enemy (trials, sufferings ) slays me my God is bigger than what wants to destroy me. There is one pivotal point in the Christian walk that I have learned.......the Christian life is not difficult, it is impossible!...But with Jesus "all things are possible." I do not rely on my own strength to be a child of God. I trust and rely explicity in the strength and power of my Father in heaven who will guide me and keep me as I travel home to heaven. God's Word says it even better. " He who faints in the day of adversity, his strength is small ( Proverbs 24:10 ). When God is not your strength, your own strength will always fail you.

Suicide is a plee for help;-{ unfortunately some succeed.
They have often cut themselves off from all sources of help.
Most especially, they have failed to trust in God.

If you put your trust in Him, strive to know Him, follow His will for your life - then suicide is not an issue. Suicide comes from people trying to handle things all by themselves instead of surrending to God and letting HIM handle it.

Satan may, but God doesn't.
I have wondered this many times myself.
This was the answer I came up with.
Remember what God permitted satan to do to Job?
