Many witnessed, and were a recipient of the miracles of Christ, yet some still did not believe. So what actually would it take?

I as a legitimate question, seeking legitimate answers, and still the answers with the Ad hominem? And that is scientific how?

Before proof, wich is more absolute, I'd be satisfied with evidence; note the difference.

Also, I don't believe a miracle has happened ever. Not once in human history, let alone in modern times. It cannot be a miracle if unless God is proven to be the only reasonable explanation. In any so-called modern miracle, there are other possibilities to explain the abnormal occurrences. The old trope: why are there miraculous cancer cures, but amputees aren't recipients of new limbs?

That said, if I witnessed any of the Biblical miracles for myself under scientific conditions that eliminated any possibility of a hoax, from burning bush, to parting large bodies of water, to plagues, the passover slaughter, raising the dead, making blind men see, walking on water, water into wine, etc, I'd have a very different outlook on God.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

If the Atheist is a firm believer in scientific proof, I would say that the Theory of Relativity and the complexity of the human cells would be proof enough. For a thing to exist, there must be an observer. And to be able to create such a complex being such as a man, would be too huge a task to be able to leave to chaos or chance. How come we have just one nose and not two? Why is our brain able to process complex thoughts such as these? How come humans have the same basic look they have since two thousand years ago? Someone must have come up with the plans.

If he brings up the theory of Darwinism, just tell him that even Darwin conceded on his deathbed that there is a God and that he can't prove his theory conclusively. Besides which, I would rather be related to God than to a monkey (duh).

If the Atheist is not the scientific type, just do what Jesus did. Ask him if he can see the wind. You don't have to see God to know He is there. Your conscience will be your measure. Even Helen Keller, who was blind since birth, when told about who God is, replied, "Oh, I already know who He is... I just did not know His name."

rofl. No, they didn't witness it. They THOUGHT they did because they weren't educated enough to understand the world or are too willing to accept a supernatural explanation for things easily explained by educated scientists.

Oh wait... when Jesus rose from the dead, there were a bunch of people there that wrote about it in the bible. And not even all of them wrote about it. Just some of the appostles. Somehow, these many many people never wrote about it in a diary or in letters or anything. EVER.

The bible is crap. It is a lie cooked up to control others.

As for what it would take me to believe... If god brings back my mother from the dead, exactly as she was minus the cancer, that would be a hell of an accomplishment considering that she's ashes spread over a wide area. If your god did that... we'd talk. What you want to bet that will happen, hmmm?

I'll bet my life that it won't.

Earl D - You said "You can bring God to their house, have him turn water into wine, make bread out of thin air, fly around the room, bring their 10 year dead relative back to life, walk and water and they still won't give in. "

Can you provide proof that God was personally brought into the house of an athiest, that an atheist actually witnessed water being turned to wine, witnessed their 10 year old dead relative being brought back to life, or personally saw God walk on water. I am talking about Athiests living today.

Don'[t tell me a story written in the bible. ANYONE can write that those things happened. Show me a modern day example of God revealing himself to an ATHEIST still living today.

Why are you so bent on convincing Atheists that God exists?? Why not just let them have their own sense of truth? NOTHING will convince an Atheist that God exists, except a personal visit from God Him/Herself. Personal. In the flesh. Doing all kinds of miraculous little ditties.

Faith is about choice. Atheists choose to have faith in what is tangible. Nothing wrong with that. They live their lives with incredibly high moral standards, higher than most Christians I know, and they do NOTHING to harm others. I think they live as Christians SHOULD, without the dogma, without the traditions, without religion. And if there is indeed a heaven, they will most assuredly get there before most of the Christians I know -- EVEN WITHOUT BELIEVING. God knows all and sees all about the hearts of man. It is not about religion; it is about HOW WE LIVE.

for me persoanlly, it would take real conclusive proof, found and explained by a scientist I respect, that evolution is false and there is no other theory to explain it. or, same scientist, saying that carbon dating is inheriently flawed and we've been wrong about the earth's age. being and open athiest as I am means that I will change my mind about things when new data is recieved, just as I did when I became and athiest. really, anything that would change my mind is currently impossible to produce because if we had it I would've changed my mind already.

Many witnessed and were recipients of the Greek gods' miracles (and wrath) in the Odyssey, too. Just because it's in a book doesn't make it so.

Here's an idea -

If Jesus and/or Moses and/or Mohammed were still alive today and were walking the Earth and performing miracles that could be seen by people today - that would be interesting.

There is no such proof.
God is love.
Show them love, it's the only proof.
This universe isn't part of God that's why Christ told you to be in the world but not of it.
If people do not believe the parables in scripture were actual events what harm does it cause?
Why is salvation based on your lack of understanding about science?
Think about what is "Important" to God, not what's important to you, your church, or your dogma. Read what God said was important.

I do not believe in your version of GOD.
I am an agnostic and open to the idea of a higher entity , your version of God that sends people to be tortured in hell seems like a tribal God and an idiot. I would never worship such a thing. I HAVE MORE COMPASSION FOR PEOPLE THAN THAT!
