I'm sorry to hear that. Even though it wasn't technically your child, I know how hard it can be to lose contact with a child you have cared for and loved as your own.
Unfortunately, you have no legal rights to access with the child unless some kind of formal custody agreement was signed by the parent.
Is there anyway that you could talk to your friend and ask her if you can still see the child, even for just the child's sake?

A friend's child is not "your child" or "your baby".

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the falling out had something to do with how the child is being raised.

If it's your friend's child then it is not your child and you have no legal rights to it. A judge will not give you custody of a child that isn't yours.
