Do you ever give any serious thought as to why the natural order is based entirely on death? All life on earth is forced to feed on each other. It literally is a world of "kill or be killed." If the cheetah doesn't kill the gazelle, the cheetah will starve to death. One of them must die... painfully... there's no way around it.

Where's the love in that?

You have some great logic to your thinking. But what your thinking is that God is human? Please correct me if I am wrong? If so, God is not and his love is stronger, more patient than we will ever know in our lives on this earth. It is beyond us and why God choses the things he does is his way of guiding us to listen and trust him. I personally don't see God as being mean or unfair. This is my personal opinion, of course, but there are a lot of examples in the Bible that may seem mean and harsh but, are merely God's way of getting his point across because people aren't obedient. I also think that what a person gives to God, such as unconditional trust and love, does come back to them, all in due time. I hope I have helped.

I am a Christian, so believe in a loving God. In the past, I've struggled to see how a loving God can be compatible with the evil, the destruction, the devastation etc that happens in the world. I have a life threatening illness and so, in my darkest moments, this is an issue I have battled with.

I could write loads on this, but I'm not going to, I will restrain myself and keep it short and sweet. You've probably heard what I'm going to say before, but you can't escape the truth.

This world was created perfect, everything was made to live in harmony, every lifeform aiding the survival of the other. What went wrong then? I hear you say. If you fall in love with someone, what you really desire is for them to love you in return, not becasue they feel some obligation to do so, not out of fear, but because they love you for who you are. Its the same with God. He gave us freewill, how we used that freewill was up to us. The Bible teaches that our first parents, Adam and Eve, abused that freedom, and the perfect world which they inhabited could no longer exist. I know many people see this as some far fetched story, but hear me out.

God has given us boundaries, He has told us what lifestyle choices will enable us to live in a world of peace (e.g. 10 commandments). When we disregard these, disaster results. On the whole, people have stepped over those boundaries. Take for example global warming, the result of us missusing the earth's resources. The result of global warming is flooding, droughts, extreme weather, extinction of certain species.

You ask where is the love? The love is still there. Its just that, love cannot be forced. God extends that offer of love, security, peace to all, its just that to experience it, we must first accept it. That doesn't mean we will never experience pain and heartache, but that we have a awesome power holding our hand.

If you don't accept what I say, that is your choice, but truth remains truth whether or not one accepts it.

What do you mean, where's the love? Cheetahs love it when they catch a gazelle!!

The natural order is based on procreation. In order to procreate, we need energy. We get our energy from the food we eat, therefore carnivores have to kill. Predators usually pick on the weaker members of the prey, therefore the stronger members survive to pass their stronger genes on - through procreation.

It's the circle of life, if I may be allowed to quote from disney!

Every living thing must die.Whether it is plant or animal, everything dies and has to die for other life to live. All life needs sustenence. Even plants need animals, they can't even breath without carbon dioxide. All life is intertwined.

It is one of the reasons why we should say grace.

God loves by allowing us eternal life so that we may understand. The only thing that will makes us eternally damned is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Sorrry that you do not feel the love. It is not a problem with God, it seems to be a problem with your relationship with Him. I hope you will know God and learn to trust Him as you trust yourself. As long as you live it is not too late.

A) Differentiate between nature and God. They are NOT one and the same. All of creation is here by divine fiat. After that, it's guesses for grabs how it will behave as each fragment of creation has its own form of free will. It is free to be whatever its nature causes it to be.

B) Man alone has the possibility of either lowering his nature to a base level or of upligting it to the highest possible level.

C) Your choice should have no bearing on nature's choices. Ask yourself, who's in charge of my life, me or a soulless nature?

D) Love takes many forms. Would you rather that no new life be given a chance to be? Would you rather YOU be given no such opportunity because there is no death, no passage to other levels of existence for those already here?

I believe that man's real goal is not to understand how we got here or whether there is a spirit world but to become loving and at peace. Only from that position will we be able to think clearly about anything else.

SDC is right on. God is indeed a loving God. He gave us His only Son to suffer and die for our sins. He loves us more than any of us can imagine. On this earth, there is suffering and dying every day. There is sadness and pain. Eternal life with God will be free of any of these negative things. No more pain. No more sadness. No more fear. It will be indeed - paradise.

there must be balance... good and evil, yin and yang. thats why the cheetah must eat the gazelle; yes the gazelle suffers and dies, but the positive is that the cheetah survives and now has a full belly and can feed its adorable kittens.

If you don't believe in God, where do you get the idea that all those things you mention are somehow wrong? Evolution doesn't grant purpose or "right/wrong", it just is. Your idea that animals suffer and that suffering is somehow wrong is just a meaningless feeling you have.

In fact, without God, love itself is just a meaningless feeling engendered in your brain by feel-good drugs placed there through mindless evolution and the result is that you are controlled. Without God, we are all slaves to a feel-good drug addiction thanks to evolution.
