I have had the runarounds with the BMV for years and I am just about to get my license back and this will re-suspend it again and cost me another $400 right after I pay them $325 to get it re-instated. Can anyone help me on a way to fix this? I have no way to show proof of insurance because it was my X wifes vehicle and she will not help me.

That does not make sense that they would want proof of insurance going back 7 yrs. What they probably want is proof of insurance NOW to get your license back. Ask them, but probably they want an SR22 form from your current insurance company. If you have a vehicle insure it & ask your agent for an SR22. If you do NOT own a car & do NOT have a car in your household & do NOT have a car furnished for regular use (borrowing your brother's car for an extended period or have a company car), you can get a named nonowner policy and have an SR22 issued from that.

Statute of limitations dude! I cannot produce records of taxes or check stubs that far back. Misdemeanor charge should have gone away on it's age. Unless the Law is stated you must be able to maintain insurance and prove you have been insured for 7 or 8 years? The ball is in your court And your driving privilege is at stake. Go to the motor vehicle department Arm your self with your current insurance card and get copy of the law read it find out where your confused hire an attorney as the last resort.

All you can do in contact the agent that handled the insurance for that vehicle and ask for proof on insurance for that time period if there was any. What was the result of the ticket? If you showed proof of insurance then and there in court that may also be on file and a source of proof.
