You will need to sign over the title, a bill of sale, depending on the year an odometer disclolsure. If you lost the title go to DMV and a apply for a duplicate title, or fill out the application for duplicate title and hand that over along with bills of sale to your buyer. Also make sure you do a Release of Liability with DMV. You will need the buyers information, this will protect you if the buyer does not complete the transfer of the unit into his name. Keep copies of the Release of Liability for your records.

Yes, all of the above, the most important being the title since cars are sold by title. Registration is not as important because the new owner will be changing it into his name and getting a new slip anyway. The bill of sale is something you generate and give the buyer, it's merely a statement of what they paid for the vehicle, which they will need for paying the tax when they transfer the title and registration. If you have lost the title you can't sell until you get a new one, apply for a duplicate at the DMV.

dmv can replace any lost documations, of course for a fee thoug. You need the title and registration, when you sell the car you have to sign the back of the title before giving it to the new owner.

If you have lost your title to your car you need to apply for a replace with your local , tag office, secretary of state or DVM (which ever it is called in your state.) You will need your VIN number which locate on the cash next to the window on the drivers side. There will be a fee to get it replaced.

When you get that you sign it over to the person who wants to purchase it. It may require it to be notarized. Different in each state. If you wish you can give them a receipt for the purchase. But it's usually states on the title how much they purchased the vehicle for.
