absolutely! I believe in evolution and also am a firm believer in God. I believe God played a part in the evolutionary process.

You know, when my kids were born I realized that in order for 2 simple cells to turn into these marvelous human beings, that there had to be a God!

You'd have to define "evolutionist". I'm a very strong Christian who attends a Soul-Winning Bible-Believing Baptist Church. I also have 2 Hard Science Degrees and accept the scientifically valid portions of Evolutionary Theory.

The problem with this board is we have many self-proclaimed "atheists" spouting off about Scientific Matters where they have little or no knowledge. And they GREATLY inflate what Evolutionary Theory says and is.

Aside from the fact there's no such word as 'evolutionist,' you most certainly can accept the scientific fact of evolution, yet still remain a theist. It's called theistic evolution, which means you believe evolution is the intelligently designed method by which your deity creates new species.

If you mean "Lord" as a God or God in a generic term, sure. If you mean by "Lord" Jesus, I doubt it. Jesus Himself spoke of Adam and Eve and Noah as real people, who actually existed and He spoke of the creation as an actual event. So, if you call Jesus, Lord, and buy into evolution, you are essentially calling Him either ignorant or a liar.

You certainly can; but is seems a little counter-intuitive to believe the first, which is heavily supported by scientific data; while simultaneously accepting the second, which doesn't have an evidential leg to stand on.

No, becuase if you believe in Jesus, you have to believe in the WHOLE Bible, you can't just choose what sounds goodt o you to believe.

And the Bible clearly states that the earth was made in 6 days. By God.

I don't see why not.

A literal interpretation of the Bible is NOT needed to be a Christian, or any other religion.
