This is clearly one of several female variations of the Hebrew masculine name "Michael"

"Michael" is from the Hebrew name מִיכָאֵל (Mika'el) meaning, "Who is like God?"

(mi = who
k- = like
'el = God)

By the way, the claim that your name includes a form for "goddess" is absolutely false. It is "ella" because this is the way several European languages (such as FRENCH) create a feminine form. That is, it simply turning the WHOLE name, (not the word "El") into a feminine form.

A little more on the biblical Hebrew name

- it is usually but not always a man's name... the name of King Saul's daughter -- Michal-- is just a slight variation on it (you'll also find the form "Micaiah" = "Who is like the LORD [Hebrew "Yah" for the name "Yahweh", traditionally "Jehovah", name of a biblical prophet], and the shortened form "Micah" [name of another prophet -writer of the biblical book of that name])

- the form "Michael" is best known in its use as the name of one of the leading angels ("archangels") along with Gabriel, who is portrayed as the leader of God's heavenly army (of angels)

- "Who is like God/Yahweh/etc?" was an expression of praise to God, esp. a boast and celebration of his victory (The first example of it in the Bible is in Exodus 15:11, celebrating God's victory at the Red Sea over the "gods of Egypt")

(In Micah 7:18 the prophet echoes Exodus 15, and makes a play on his own name at the same time.)

Note the source I linked to -- behindthename.com is a very good source for checking the meaning of names (baby name books and web sites are sadly inconsistent -- their info is collected from many sources, some of it very careful and accurate, some very poor).

You just have an alternate spelling of Michaela. (Very pretty name, by the way). The above site tells you the meaning, "Like God" with a Hebrew origin.

I've never heard of that name before, but is it possible that it's a variant of Mikhayla? How is it pronounced? You could check on behindthename.com, they have lots of names and their meanings.

Absolutely nothing, my dear. Shame on your parents, or whomever named you. For they were thoughtless.
