I was invited out for coffee... I don't really drink coffee like that... My extent of coffee is the French Vanilla Cappuccino from 7-11 or some coffee with a TON of creamer and sugar.... I just can't stand the bitter, dry taste of regular coffee...
My dad took me to a coffee shop once and i ordered a cappuccino and it was NASTY... tasted nothing like the 7-11 one... He said that was what a real cappuccino tastes like... He drinks all kinds of coffee though, and he always orders fancy stuff like triple shot espresso, etc... (i've tried it and it's gross)...
So what can I order without sounding like a dummy, that I will actually enjoy?!?

this person is a huge coffee drinker and actually does not care for Starbucks... They go to a privately owned coffee shop... I doubt this place will have anything but coffee type drinks (so no go for smoothies/strawberry flavored stuff) plus i want to order something coffee-like... but i also don't want to GAG when i drink it!! hahahhaa

I am the same as you. I'm not a big coffee drinker, so when I go to coffee shops I always feel dumb. I just order the same thing whenever I go. A Large Mocha Latte with whipped cream. It's got lots of chocolate in it :)

That's because the cappuccino they serve at the 7-11, Tim Hortons etc is not real cappuccino. It's basically a hot milkshake made from powdered fats and sugar so it tastes a lot thicker and creamier than cappuccino..
You might like to just order a hot chocolate if you really want a lot of sweet and creamy. most drinks aren't that sweet. But if you get coffee (and i'd order a light roast unless you like the very heavy coffee taste) you can cream and sugar it up yourself.
Chai tea latte is also beautiful and you can add extra sugar if you want. They have a fabulous taste.
The sweetest hot drinks you'll find a a cafe are often of the hot chocolate variety. But lots of cold drinks can be really good too. Good old coffee is always a good bet if you like coffee because it actually does taste a little less severe if you put cream and sugar into it. But if it's not for you.. hm.. hard to say. I'd stick with a cold drink. They can be very yummy.

hahahahahahha well it is as simple as 123. 1. Grab your keys. 2. Start the car 3. Put it in gear 4. Drive the car to starbucks 5. Put car in park. 6. Open car door and get out 7. Walk to the entrance of the starbucks. 8. Stand by counter until they are ready to take your order . 9. Then place your order" something that you like " Keep in mind that the starbucks is just like McDonald's. They just sell quality coffee, they are not going to judge you if you do not spit out some fancy order. Most people who do this are likely to have some insecurities and crave attention . Go to Starbucks and order a Strawberries and Cream Frappucino on the rocks. You'll sound intelligent and that tastes so good, it's like it's not even coffee. It's on ice, that's what 'on the rocks' is, but the coffee is awesome, it doesn't even taste like coffee. Have a fun time on your little coffee outing.

Just order a cappuccino with coconut flavoring or chocolate flavoring, etc. I love cappuccino and that's what I order and that's the way I order all the time.

Oooooo, hard situation your in. Ok, well. I say......get just like a regular coffee. ANd like add tons and tons and tons and tons of creamer and suger. So it tasts more like creamer then anything. Or...you could tell the person, your not a big coffee drinker.

try a mocha or a latte those always have good flavors that have other flavors that reduce the coffee taste or just put tons of sugar and milk in it

Order a French Vanilla Coffe- its coffe with sugar and vanilla it taste sooo good and sweet and its hot... u wont soud like a dummy!

dont worry about it
most coffee shops make a great hot chocolate,
but if you feel you want to have a coffee, how about a latte, its very milky, i love black coffee and i call a latte "baby" coffee because its so milky & weak (to me)

The place where your going probably has Tea, if you like that order that and put milk and sugar in it.
