so many religions, and they all have their "Holy" books.
I was raised to believe the Bible, but there are some things written in it that puzzle me.

Maybe I can help in some ways. What are the things in the Bible that puzzle you? I am not a pastor but I have been studying the Bible for over 7 years now. To me it is a true Holy Book or Life Book. Studying it has changed my perspective of Life.

The problem here is too many churches are just picking out their favorite lines and leaving the rest alone. To follow ALL the Bible says, if there is such a religion I have not found it. So we who are most serious are out alone, holding on the best we can. Because WE DO want to get to heaven.

Absolutely God's word. Most puzzling things are not puzzling with study. Get yourself into a solid study class (not one of those "touchy feely" things) but a real solid class where they examin the Greek and Hebrew text and study the history of the times and places.
While reading keep these things in mind..........
Who is talking?
Who are they talking to?
What are they talking about?
Where are they?
When are they?
Context, Context, Context..........

I believe the Bible is a collective effort of many authors spread out over time to provide a foundation for belief in a diety their societies created and embraced.

No....the God I believe in wouldn't say half the things mentioned in the Bible. If God is love, he gave us free will, why then would he punish those who use free will and not always make the "right" choice? God is All That Is, therefore how could he have any requirements or rules? He is IT ALL already, therefore he requires nothing......the God I know is inclusive and not exclusive. That is unconditional love.

No. The bible was assembled by men, it's contents - what to put in and what to leave out - were debated by men in Rome around the year 1000.

Answer this please: Why are there so many different versions of bible? If it is only truth and pure, why are different versions (all still in English) in existence? Why?

Or is it that God is a God who prefers lies to truth and wants people to believe and live in lies than truth and honesty?

Scripture was given by inspiration of God; not the Bible. The Bible has been added to and had scripture taken from it. If you want more info, email me soon about the point.

The BIBLE is man's word created to ease the mind of man. If we were not aware of death such as dogs, fish, and other animals, there would not be a BIBLE.

However, this does not discount the importance of the BIBLE
