they made it so that woman would look slightly inferior to man as a ploy to stay in control and brainwash women and men that women were somehow inferior? That gave them the edge. Also they wrote rules in there so humanity wouldnt get out of control. 'Your creator' wrote this so it must be true. But a bunch of men from the old times just wrote it. True or False?

I don't think they wrote it to "make" women look inferior; however, I do believe those men thought women were inferior.

I tried to read the bible and got disgusted with it because over and over and over again it degrades women ... more or less refers to them as sneaky, luring and enticing whores who will ruin a man, cause him to cheat on his wife and lose his heavenly inheritance. That was just within the first 20 pages! So then I skipped to proverbs and it was more of the same.

God did not say those things and I refuse to believe that he did. Was all of the writing inspired by God? I beg to differ. Furthermore, bible researchers and historians all acknowledge that much of the bible was REWRITTEN during the 1500s and 1600s by men.

Don't get me wrong ... I believe in God. But do I take the bible literally, word for word? Heck no!

What really makes me laugh is that many of those who disagree with you haven't even taken the time to read the darn book ... they just repeat what they hear like little parrots.

Some parts perhaps but no man or group of men could cover all the bases like the word of God does.
Ask any question and the bible has an answer for it.
Any dilemma or situation...the Bible has an answer for it.
Do you honestly think that a group of farmers could come up with something so complete without the help of God?
I will agree though that over the years MEN have rewritten parts of the Bible to serve their own personal needs and as they say nothing created by the Hand of man is perfect.
Believe in the basics.
God is kind, loving and cares for us.
He helps us but does not live our lives for us.
God loves you.

False. We do know for a fact that many people wrote the Bible, but it was different texts over the course of about 1000 years and they were not originally written to be put together.

About women being portrayed as inferior, that was how the society was back then, and still is. It has nothing to do with religion.

Although I truly believe the Bible to be the word of God, I believe it is the original scrolls and not what is now the Bible which has been translated too many times and I am sure during the translations many "mistakes" were made. It has always been some man in authority who was in charge of making the translations and do believe much was intentionally done to lower womens status. I am quite surprised at the scriptures, albeit very few, that mention women and the contributions they made to the Christian faith.

I'm not sure about the woman part of your question ,But it always did seem more than a bit strange that a god capable of creating worlds would chose pen and paper as his way of communicating his message for eternity to man. One would think that something a little more permanent would have been a better solution. I mean look at how the Egyptians handled delivering their message to eternity or how NASA handled the problem on Voyager 1 & 2 .

True & False

Men and Women are different and there should be rules concerning them... having said that, I need to also say that the bible HAS BEEN CHANGED--just check out the book Misquoting Jesus.

Now, I am a bit confused...you said: "Also they wrote rules in there so humanity wouldnt get out of control." So, do you admit that at least some of these rules are good? Do you admit they kept humanity from being out of control?

Do you think it is best for humanity to be out of control? I don't and I chose ISLAM.

absolutely, i have studied how the bible was compiled from the many writings of the early Christians during the 3rd century at the council of nicia omitting many books that showed women had an importance place.

gospel=good news the basis for our religion. the women at the tomb were the first to 'preach' the good news, "He is risen."

if you look at the majority of religions, they all construct women as lesser vessels. this is men's perversion of God. IMO

Literary collaborations almost never work much better than the Bible has done. Additionally, the modern editing disciplines provided by publishers prevent a lot of the internal contradictions found in older works, such as the Bible.

I believe the men that wrote it lived in an age when women were thought of as less than men so put that across but they were writing down what they belived was from God and I am sure 95% of it was.

I think there is some good and not so good books in there. You are asking a valid question. Much more interesting to me is how this collection came together in the form we see today. I don't think Paul's letters reflect the preaching of Jesus Christ, so those selections were very questionable.
