I have been reading for sometime now some of the statements that so called Christians are saying to you. And though I do not personally owe you an apology, still I give it to you. every time I read these questions toward Athiests, It is always in a disrespectful manner. They are always bashing you with their "You will burn in hell" and other (misguided) bible beliefs.
1 Peter 3:15 says...But sanctify the Christ as Lord in YOUR hearts, always ready to make a defense before everyone that demands of YOU a reason for the hope in YOU, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect.
Obviously from this scripture, many of these proclaimers do not know Gods word, and have failed to use it right in discussing their belief in it. I , am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. And I respect you and your beliefs. If ever you are approached by a JW. they will try to engage in a conversation with you and try to reason in dignified manner. WE will not threaten you with Hellfire, or condesend you.

I hope that you will extend this same courtesy to JW's if ever you are approached by them.

Dear Gelfling. Although in you do not believe in the divine word of God. There is a command from Jesus Christ at Matthew 28:19 which states..."Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit".
It does not say, WAIT for them to come to your church. WE are here to give a witness. We do not convert. that is something you do if you decide to Worship Jehovah. And if you decline, then I will respectfully accept it.

I appreciate good manners, but I'm afraid it doesn't change my mind when it comes to Christianity of any brand. And I'm sorry, but people who have the audacity to knock on my door to tell me about Jesus - as if I hadn't heard - get it slammed in their faces.

As for the people for whom you're apologizing - yeah, it IS rather annoying to be told I'm going to hell all the time, because although I obviously don't believe in it, for these people who supposedly do, it's got to be the worst insult they could possibly hurl at somebody, and they do it with the most cavalier indifference - half the time they actually gloat over it. To me, that just further establishes that they're morally insane.

It's really out of the blue.Only a basically decent person can think like that.No need to apologize really.Would you for a second stop and ponder as to why Christianity is producing such a large numbers of Atheists these days?Is it because,as a religion,Christianity has begun to lag behind social progression of believers and failing to provide adequately satisfactory answers to their questions ,peculiar to the modern times. What is the role of people who are aggressively marketing Christianity through fear of hell and fire?I think, this religion needs a kind of leadership who can take it in to future rather than use the tolls which no longer work.Sorry if I sound impolite as I never meant so.

I'm a member of the HOUSE OF YAHWEH, and I agree with your statements above. I have more in common with the Athiest than I do the confused christians. They can be some of the most hateful people that I've ever encountered, & they'll kill you if you don't like it!! The Athiest hs just as much a right to voice his or her opinion here on the site than any other religion! Lets keep this open forum, & at peace. I'll be ready to dodge the stones!!!

I agree with you. I'm not a JW, but i'm Lutheran. I believe we shouldn't bash and kill, because mostly we complain about the same thing! And we can't shove religion down someones throat like that if they're unwilling.

Sometimes, it's better to be respectful. Live and let live. I will always teach someone who asks and will listen, but i will never tell someone blatantly they're going to hell. It just doesn't seem right to me.

God bless.

Thank you for the respectful post, but really, I do wish your door to door witnesses would accept a respectful "I'm not interested, thank you" for an answer and just go away at that point. That is the only issue I have with JWs.

YOU TOTAL ***: YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN CHRISTIANITY, FOR WHAT?
SO THAT YOU CAN FURTHER THE AGENDA OF YOUR OWN FALSE DOCTRINE? You have a damned nerve don't you? If a Christian on this forum feels they need to apologize to anyone, they have their own keyboard and are more than able to apologize without your gracious help. Do you think atheists don't see thru your bullshit??? You think J.W. nonsense
will somehow enlighten them into not being atheists anymore, just because you acted as if you were "nicer" than the rest?

AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, WHAT YOU DID ACCOMPLISH HERE IS THAT YOU HAVE PUT THE FINISHING TOUCHES ON SEPARATING J.W. FROM CHRISTIAN ALTOGETHER.
Frankly, your doctrine is so abominable that I never saw you as Christian anyway, but some others may have. Probably not now.
I am a teacher in the manuscripts and I teach them in the original languages. I know full-well when I read false doctrine. You own it and you peddle it. And now you try to
impede on the TRUE CHILDREN OF GOD
by your sneaky, underhanded bullshit.
Atheists may not be believers, but they sure as hell are not stupid. You however, are of questionable intelligence.

I appreciate the spirit in which you offer your apology. I do realize that when many of the Chrisitan replies are nasty, they are either given by young people or by totally off-balanced people. It was nice that you felt this way, though, and thanks.

I studied for five years with JW's and I always treat them with respect.

For the record, thank you, but in the last 2 days, I have gotten 4 violations for answers. I have never reported anyone for saying that I am going to burn in hell. If you don't like my answers email me and we'll discuss it. You're either threatened by it or you just get a kick out of reporting people. Quite frankly, I'm sick of it.

Oh come now, we atheists do much worse in return. As far as I'm concerned, neither side owes an apology, and we should feel free to continue collective arguments, as doing so allows us to think about our faith (or lack thereof), which is rarely a bad thing.

I am a Christian who speaks of hell in my posts to those who blaspheme the God i love with all my heart. I don't think they have to be rude and make fun of him. I just remind them for their own souls sake that there is a hell and my heart is for them as I don't want anyone to go to hell so when I remind them they might go to hell,I am doing it in love so that they just might stop to think about it. and i don;t feel they have the right to smash God, for remember what Jesus did when he turned over the tables in anger when they were selling in his Father's house. he was not kissy sweet there. Yes, we don't have to call names etc. but they need to know I will defend my God when they make up these ridiculous questions and comments about God . It is uncalled for and I believe God would say the same, I am not to judge who will go to hell or if the will come to God,but they do need to be warned that there is a hell, if they choose to not believe, I'm not going to stuff it down there throat.
