i grew to become into questioning that! Indeterminably might recommend "while they see extra healthful", indefinitely is like, time, that's indefinite I continuously theory! according to risk all human beings is getting the two blended up! i'm so aggravated at those penal complex sentences, in some years they are going to all be released and given new identities and new lives - they don't deserve that.

this means you have entitlement to dla at your current level without term or duration, usually its awarded for 2 or 3 years but if you have a chronic condition which is not expected to change the award is made indefinitely. however this doesnt mean that it's guaranteed till your dying day, if you improve or god forbid get worse you have a duty to let them know the change in your circumstances and it will be reassessed. dla branch have an active case management unit which periodically reviews indefinite awards on a rolling basis so they will get back to you occasionally.

It means that you will get it forever and you won't be subject to medicals every 6 months that some people have to go though.

I get it too as I have multiple disabilities. Although none are that serious on their own, together they all add up and therefore I qualify.

I have two petitions on the downing Street website. Would you be kind enough to have a look at the link below and consider sighing?

Thanks

What it doesn't mean is indefinitely! all awards are now subject to review ie they say (DWP) they randomly send questionnaires regarding your condition, there does however seem to be nothing random about it at all, as over the last yearm many, many people have recieved them despite having had indefinite awards for years and having chronic conditions that will NOT improve only progress. If you recieve IB as well check out the exempt categories, which DO still exist, despite the DWP telling you they don't.Many people who have letters stating they are exempt, are now getting IB50's and being told there are no exempt categories no longer exist! check out www.benefitsand work.co.uk

Hi, it means that your award is for life and that they won't routinely send you another form. Though be aware that they can review it at some stage as happens from time to time but basically the indefinite award is a good thing financially.

Disability living allowance (DLA) is a non-means-tested, non-contributory benefit paid to a person aged under 65 years (but there are special rules for claims made before 6 October 1997), who has care and/or mobility needs as a result of a mental or physical disability. It is tax free.
DLA is made up of:-
a care component for help with personal care needs, payable at one of three rates; and
a mobility component for help with walking difficulties, payable at one of two rates.
A person may receive one, or both, of the components paid at the rate appropriate to her/his care and/or mobility needs. For example, a person may get the middle rate care component and the lower rate mobility component.
DLA is a benefit for the disabled person. It is not a benefit for the carer. The carer of a disabled person may be able to claim carer's allowance if the disabled person has claimed the highest or middle rate of the care component of DLA. The carer should not wait until DLA is awarded before claiming carer's allowance.
If you have been awarded DLA indefinately, this means your condition is unlikely to improve with time. You will get it forever. You may have to complete a review every now and then.

Probably DISABLED LIVING ALLOWANCE but acronyms can mean several things-if it was following a medical for disabled living allowance that is what it means. If it was for other circumstances please let us know what.

The indefinite will mean that you should not be recalled for another medical(usually every 18 months)
