You can teach about how God never leaves us or forsakes us and how He takes care of us when we are feeling down and how sometimes He speaks to us in a still small voice and how God is never surprised by anthing that happens to us but always makes provision for our future so that his will for our lives will come to pass.
1 Kings 19:7 And the angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, "Arise and eat, for the journey is too great for you." 8 And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God. 9 There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 10 He said, "I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away." 11 And he said, "Go out and stand on the mount before the LORD." And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 14 He said, "I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away." 15 And the LORD said to him, "Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria. 16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi you shall anoint to be king over Israel, and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah you shall anoint to be prophet in your place. 17 And the one who escapes from the sword of Hazael shall Jehu put to death, and the one who escapes from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha put to death. 18 Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him."

Is there anything about Elijah which stands out in your spirit, after reading the chapter?
This is what I see: In Chapter 18, Elijah took on Jezebel and over 400 prophets of Baal. He performed a test, proving that God could do what Baal could not. He was on "the mountain" spiritually. Then, Jezebel gets angry with what he was doing and threatened to kill him. After his mountaintop experience of God's power -- he ran tail and hid, not trusting God as he had just done. The same thing happened in Exodus -- the exiles, so recently freed from bondage after seeing God's mighty acts of power, crumbled at the Red Sea. We need constant reminders.
Yet, God fed Elijah in that cave, and spoke to him through the still small voice. He did not condemn Elijah, but told Elijah that he wasn't alone -- there were 7,000 who still believed. And he also gave Elijah a prophecy. This encouraged Elijah (and gave him something to do).
Beyond that, how does the story in 1 Kings 19 speak to you?

It is a big chapter and there is lot to study verse by verse. But the main thing is that even though he did a great miracle in the Carmel mount, he got backslided. But God wanted him to do better things so he sends his angels to strengthen him. How loving our God is!. We may think we are lost, but God doesn't allow us to be in that mood.
He wakes up in those times even by sending angels.
With God's food, he ran 40 days upto Horeb. He got the blessings to see God. It is also marvellous.
He anointed two kings and judge later. In the last he was taken upto heaven in clouds. So wonderful...hidden treasures are there in life of Elijah
