Committing suicide violates the commandment "Thou shalt not kill" - that includes yourself.

It also in many cases is compounded by the sin of dispair - Dispair is actually a sin because it denies that God can or will forgive - in this case it's sinning against the Holy Spirit.

And, as other answerers have mentioned, it's a sin because our bodies and lives do not belong to us, they belong to God. They were bought with a price.....

I don't believe that having suicidal thoughts is a sin in and of itself - we are being tempted to try it, but temptation itself is not a sin, giving into it is.

Suicidal is not a sin, committing suicide is.

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV) [19] Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; [20] you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

(1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV) [16] Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? [17] If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God&'s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

(Psalm 139:15-16 NIV) [15] My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, [16] your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be

Take a look at the ten Commandments and look for the one that speaks to the issue of taking life.

And spend in the Cause of Allah (i.e. Jihad of all kinds, etc.) and **do not throw yourselves into destruction**, and do good. Truly, Allah loves Al-Muhsinoon (the good-doers).

Whether it says it or not, attempting suicide is not only wrong in its entirety, but plain and simply STUPID!!
You actually need a bible to convince you?
