Here are two simple keys to the conversion. Commit these to memory.

1 kilogram = 2.2 lbs
The density of water is 1 gram/cm³.

Using these two pieces of information we can solve your problem.

5 lbs x 1 kg / 2.2 lbs = 2.273 kg

2.273 kg = 2273 g = 2273 cm³

Please note that the 1 g = 1 cm³ applies to water at 25° C. However it is reasonably close for most purposes at other temperatures.
