Even I live in a HOT HUMID Gulf country, but am not addicted to soft drinks.
Please try and lessen the amount you drink. If you feel the urge go to the store and pick up water or a juice instead. Make a conscious effort to change your choices. Allow yourself only a certain amount everyday.
Keep your goal in mind, to lower your intake of soft drinks.
Such a diet would affect you adversely now and during your golden years.
It is difficult but lots of perseverance and effort you will get out of your habit. All the best.

I used to have a serious Diet Coke habit, but I went cold turkey when I was pregnant. That's the way to go! Cut it out completely and replace it with water and a squeeze of lemon or lime. It is very refreshing! I had headaches for a few days because I missed the caffeine, but after that I felt fantastic drinking water. Would you believe that pop doesn't even tempt me now? I don't crave it at all!

quit gradually change to water. If you are taking in a great easd of caffeine you can have bad results is you cut out the caffeine" Cold turkey" that goes for coffee too You can suffer really bad headaches. You need to keep hydrated. My daughter has beautiful skin and she drinks almost no colas maybe 1 a month or two. If you have children each them that early. When we go to a restaurant they even get water. I have reduces the amount of cola buy doing it gradually, but it is easy to get back into the habit so it is a conscience effort. Good luck to you

You need to consider the negative effects of soft drinks. Its not just your bones that are getting weaker (sodas are a leading cause of osteoporosis because they leach calcium from the bones.) Soda dissolves tooth enamel, and increases risk for obesity. Diet sodas, if sweetened with saccharin, can also contribute to increased chance of cancer, asthma, eczema, and infertility in female reproductive organs. If you care about your health and the quality of your life, put the Mountain Dew down! Drink water.

Slowly wein yourself off them. Try having one or two less sodas a day and up that number as you can until you no longer are addicted to sodas. It doesn't help to drink so much soda either if you live in a hot area because sodas act as diuretics and dehydrate you. You might be drinking so many because one makes you thirsty and instead of reaching for what you need (water) you reach for another soda and continue the cycle.

It gets easier after you quit for awhile. Don't know what to tell you besides that. They do more damage than simply disintegrate your bones. They dehydrate you severely, for example.
You shouldn't even be substituting with juice. Eat the whole fruit if you want fruit. Don't take out the fiber. We are meant to drink water, and milk if you're not intolerant.
Good luck.. you must succeed. Hate the Pusher Man, and crush the enemy within!

You already have one good reason to quit,
your bones are getting weaker!!!
List down other possible reason such as
High calorie, Acid, Lose weight, Artificial sweetener issues,
Less chance for diabetes, Dehydration,
Caffeine addiction, Save money, Mineral depletion,
Soda replaces healthier drinks.......

Drink seltzer instead. It's carbonated water, but it has the fizz of soda without the taste and calories. It'll also keep you hydrated better than soda will.

My son is fairly careful of two litre bottles of lemonade because of the fact the day he placed one down and the lid shot off and hit him in his chest. It left a bruise the scale of a tea plate protecting his chest. My sons dad had a mishap with a lemonade bottle additionally. He fell asleep in a chair . His head fell forward and rested on it. He woke up with the imprint of the bottle on his brow. It grew to become into there some week.
