You could. Many have patented published or released into the public domain drawings and instruction for perpetual motion machines.

The patent office makes a point to require an operational mode be submitted for perpetual motion machines.

To require this, they must believe in them.

Its a good suggestion to get it on the web... but you might also wanna try to get the tutorial of your teachers if you are a school student. You are sure they wont jump in the spot light and will acknowledge that you are the creator of the perpetual motion machine.

Better still, keep on working on it and ultimately show it in science competitions or such exhibitions .... you are sure to get an appropriate media coverage.

I think all you will get is a lot of mockery by people who know it is impossible. Even the patent office knows it is a foolish idea so patents are not part of your future.

What you should do is find a better pastime.

The first thing to do is to send yourself a registered-certified letter, return receipt requested. Place in this letter a complete description of the machine with drawings, diminsions, and pictures. Also anyone who has witnessed this machine in action and will verify it. When you get the letter in the mail DO NOT OPEN IT! Just keep it in a safe place along with the receipt. This will verify by date when you actually came up with the idea/machine. ----Good Luck------------ballastmn

Put it on your website in the internet. That way you won't have to patent it.

I think you should give me the schematics to build it, so I can become richer than Bill Gates.
