I get to a state of mind called 'contentment' which is a product of feeling at peace with what's around me, both physical and spiritual when I stop fighting against everything around me. I guess you can say a lack of 'jihad'. I cease to struggle.
What I focus on in order to do that is Jesus Christ, who told us to trust him. I accept that God knows full well what's in my life, and I need to trust him with what it is that might bother me.
So my goal is not to have peace, but to trust God, and then I will have peace. If life has me down, then I am not trusting Him enough.

A bit less pain. Spirituality is all well and good for emotional difficulties, but it's just a distraction when it comes to physical problems.
