LOL! I find this question highly amusing. When an atheist accepts God, the experience is probably the feeling that their eyes have been truly opened to the world for the first time, and they see many things differently than they used to, and even feel differently than they used to. You say "Why don't you do the same, nad try to live without your beliefs for a day, see if it makes any real difference. If you were honest, I think you would see that your life has improved." Let me tell you, it would make a HUGE difference compared to the feelings an atheist would feel if they ACCEPTED God. If we REJECTED our beliefs, even for one day, you would see that even attempting to do so would be nearly impossible, it's like blinding a painter, or deafening a musician. It would feel like you were dying in some way because God has always been apart of you, and without him you're nothing. Atheists can say "Oh well, try to live without your beliefs and you'll feel the same as we would if we tried to convert to Christianity" But it just doesn't work that way. An atheist can say that simply because they've never felt what Christians have felt, it's not really a feeling you can describe unless you've already felt it. Simple as that really.

Hmm exciting question, i've got under no circumstances even heard of pantheism, yet i can verify the similarities with atheism, the type between the two might no longer be a philosophical distinction, yet extra of a scientific one. A god is a being that is everywhere, is familiar with each and every thing, and might do something. i've got faith, as an atheist, that the universe is particular by way of rules, and would possibly no longer do something, I additionally think of that if there is no info to have faith that the universe is a being that is familiar with each and every thing, you ought to no longer assume that that's. the only situation to atheism is the question "the place did each and every thing come from" and that question is unanswerable, and that i see it as no longer being a low factor. i individually do no longer see any problems with the basics of pantheism, different than you're changing the definition of the observe god to be the two an inanimate merchandise and an animate merchandise.

I tried not paying attention to God for an entire year. I mean, I didn't do it deliberately or on purpose, but you see, I'm kind of lazy. Or maybe there was something else.
Anyway, something terrible began happening in the world whenever I stopped paying attention to God. There was an earthquake, a flood, a weird frost pattern across the orange groves, and this awful awful thing would happen at work.
It was like a bomb would fall. And then it did. in a way. It was awful.
Now, I'm not making a claim that when I pray, I'm holding back disasters, but it sure is seeming that way to me. Now again, for this entire summer I have closed my mouth to prayer. Now I'm not doing this on purpose. It is just not happening. I don't not believe in God, and I still talk to Him and think about Him, but I worry what the effects are going to be if I keep up this non-com.
I don't know. It's just weird, I guess. This sounds like that guy from MI5, doesn't it? "I can change weather patterns!" You must think I'm nuts.

The Christians who tell Atheists to "Try" to accept God are the same Christians who tell gays to "Try" to be sexually attracted to the opposite sex...
I don't preach to Atheists much. It's a waste of time. They have made up their mind more firmly than any religious zealot. They have usually researched other religions ten times as in depth as I have, and have a good working knowledge of Christianity as well. They know the universe as well as any layperson needs to.
I could use that time ministering to people who are at least curious about what I believe... people who are open to the possibility that I might have the answer they are looking for (well, God has it through me...).

I did try life without Jesus.
Understand, please. I grew up in a religious home. I rebelled. And I did some absolutely HORRIBLE things when I did.
I didn't feel any better. In fact, during that time, I attempted suicide 3 times. And I ended up hospitalized twice for it.
When I returned to my faith, it wasn't a "magic" experience. My problems didn't simply vanish. But suddenly, I wasn't alone. I was able to turn to my "higher power" for help.
I've been on both sides and to be completely honest, I prefer where I am now, problems and all. I love my creator and I never want to be without Him again.
One more thing. I'm not saying that everybody who abandoned their faith experienced, or did, the same things I did. I'm merely giving my view of my own experiences. Everybody has their own story.
God bless.

Believe me, as a Christian who DOESN'T try to force my beliefs on others, I get criticized and looked down upon and tried to be converted by the atheist community just as much as you all have the annoying ones of us doing the same. There are annoying radicals to any belief structure, not just Christianity.

I think at least some of the Christians that read this and rejected the idea should get an idea of what's it like to try to be converted by someone of different beliefs...
It's not nice and a tad annoying to be told what to do...
Why can't they get it through their heads...

It takes courage to shake loose of the shackles of Xianity.
When you consider they all 'love' their InvisibleSkyPixie because they believe if they don't they'll go to hell is it any wonder Xianity has so many adherents?
One day ask them if they'd still worship their Pixie and TheKid if their reward was a BurningHell instead of a TotalitarianHeaven.
They'd all recant quick smart - we'd be inundated with 'how do I shake loose of the Pixie belief' questions.
LOL.

it's ignorant for you to think that just because someone is christian they have never lived their life without god. Many christians were athethist such as yourself for periods of time. Forget for a second all that this is a conversation about religion. It is descent human nature that if you were drowning and someone was standing on the deck of a boat holding a life raft they would throw it out to you, most people wouldnt think twice about taking the life raft. As a christian we view telling someone about god as throwing them a life raft, you however in both situation remain free to 'swim' the other way. but tell me would stop and critize the good deed of the person on the deck of the boat who tried to save your life?

I advocate religious tolerance and respect ...
Being once Christian I understand WHY it is they wish to share their beliefs with everyone. Mind you, I don't like (never did it myself) the constant badgering of people who didn't want to listen to me.
The reason that Christians encourage ANYONE to accept "The Good News" is because they have found it brought them peace and happiness and all the blessings they could ask for. It's like a child who got a new toy or video game ... they want to show everyone else and share it with whomever will listen. They have a childlike enthusiasm. They want to share their happiness with others.
*shrug* Just my two cents.
