and engagement rings too.
Does just the man buy an engagement ring for when he proposes or does the woman buy one too for the man upon being propsed to?
Or how about the actual wedding ring?
Is it just the plain gold or platinum bands?
what costs more & whats the difference?
What kind of ring is supposed to be an engagement ring?
and how does the guy buy it if he doesnt know the size?
well I guess thats a few questions.
can you help me out with them??

Usually only women get engagement rings, but if you wanted to buy a ring for your fiance, then you can surely do that. Actual wedding rings should be purchased together so that you each get the exact ring you want. You can both get the same band, different bands or bands with stones. It all depends on your personal tastes. Anything with stones will cost more than a plain band. A great site that I suggest is www.bluenile.com ... they have a great selection and their customer service is top notch.

First you pick out an engagement ring. You should go with your girlfriend to pick it out because you seem very unsure. Men don't wear engagement rings. An engagement ring will cost you between $3000K to $5000 for anything of nice quality. Go to a reputable jeweler or a discount jewelry place in your area with a good reputation. I would ask some guys who have recently gotten engaged or married. Or go online: do a search: diamond engagement rings and wedding bands. If you buy a diamond ring, make sure you have it appraised by a good appraisal diamond dealer, and buy it in a size 6 1/2 or a 7 and you can later have it sized, but I do recommend you go with your girlfriend or start looking together and see what type she goes for in a diamond ring. A wedding band can be just white or yellow gold and very simple. Go to: adiamor.com. Great site.

Yeah, it is a toughie. And I guess it is not a situation where you want to go borrowing off family or friends either. There are a few ways to make some money, a garage sale or something. But there are a lot of places, they do sound dodgy but they will lend money to bad credit customers, you just have to be careful to keep up the repayments. If you have a job tho, they will usually lend. Or maybe you have a few items you can sell to get a downpayment? Most jewellers do have interest free deals where you can pay off the ring, but I think the credit rating needs to be pretty good. However if you went in there and were really genuine and plead your case they might give you one....it could be worth a try? Or maybe you could find a second hand jewellery store. I know people say it is bad luck to buy rings that were pawned but maybe it is more unlucky to go into debt over new rings? Do be careful, tho I understand that you need to get the rings. Have you thought of trying one of those places that make the really beautiful rings, real gold but manufactured diamonds....they look real and nobody would ever know.....Secrets is the name of one I know of. Just a few thoughts on the matter....Good luck. I totally know where you are coming from. Hope it works out.

look dont shop at tiffanys or any other mall or high priced store. Your best bet for an engagement ring is to look for an independent jeweler in your area they ten to save u at least a thousand dollars if not more. the mall stores are way over priced! also there is this good website called idonowidont.com people sell their engagements rings on there and the website varifies they are authentic before u lose ur money. My bf and i found a beautiful ring on there for 500.00 and its worth 6,500 best of luck. with that.
they guys doesnt get an enegagment ring too he just gets a wedding band.
for the wedding bands you can buy them together or seperate. i am going to be buying my fiance's band myself and picking it out and he is buying mine. But some people go in halfers and some guys pay for it all just depends on the situation.
plain gold is going to be cheaper then platinum a gold band is a few hundred bucks and a platinum is like 1000.
about the size of the ring a few different ways u can find out her ring size one is ask her. two is take one of her rings to a jeweler and ask the size of it. and two is just buy the ring as teh size it is and have it sized to fit her after u ask her. i think i answered all ur questions lol if u have any more questions feel free to contact me. you can also search the web for some more info. do some reasearch before u buy a diamond. good luck!!

Let the guy choose the engagement ring, then he can buy on which fits his budget comfortably, and he will choose something he thinks you might like. Rings for women usually come in a standard size 7, then after he gives it to you, it can be resized if need be.
You buy one another wedding bands
