leosden- sorry to disappoint you, but I belong to no denomination. I don't attend church, either.

auntb93-You're thinking wrong. I meant exactly what I asked, and no I am not trying to stir-up trouble.

i wouldn't outlaw any religious denomination because it seems like that actually makes religions stronger. they thrive on opposition.
for example see what happened when christianity was banned in ancient rome and its adherent tortured... they became martyrs who fueled the growth of that religion...
so basically i'd outlaw the religion i'd want to grow.
furthermore... supposedly the US is meant to have freedom of religion, once you start outlawing that, you've lost one of the great advantages of that country.

You are going to have an awfully long list to choose from. The last statistic I saw was 2600 separate Protestant sects in the USA alone.
It is not actually 2600 now, that number is from an almanac published in 2000. There is probably about ten percent more now. In many states, if you have a store front, 10 or more in the congregation, you can be licensed as a church, Christian or whatever, independent of any of the large religious organizations.

I want to say Scientology but it's really a stretch to call it a religious denomination. The Moonies could go too.
And if I ruled the world I'd take Benny Hinn out of his phony baloney ministry and make him a regular on Saturday Night Live. They could use somebody funny for a change.

Not possible. The First Amendment would be violated, and I have no interest in denying the First Amendment.
What you are asking, I think, is which denomination do people dislike the most. That is just stirring up trouble.

Oh come on, this wouldn't be the good ol' US of A if we could outlaw religion! People in this country have a RIGHT to be gullible and stupid and believe in whatever make-believe divine beings they want!

Hmmm... none of them... because I know they would come after mine first. Everyone has the right to believe what they believe. The less you believe like others the more honest you are. If it would be any it would be well... Muslims, because they have been killing Christians and Jews and anyone in their path... since the beginning. Seriously... read your history.

Any philosophy that tells children to believe that something exists without proving it. Children grow up to be adults who believe in magic. That's a terrible waste of human intelligence. In a civilized society, one day, to teach mysticism to children before the age of 18, when they reach their full reasoning capacity, will be considered a crime equal to introducing them to drinking, smoking, and sex.

none of them. I think the diversity of religion in the states makes it a better place to live.
I would presonally make a law similar to the "do not call list", for religions to not be able to knock on your door if you were on the list.
