Then would praying really make a difference? He has a plan so why would he really listen to a prayer if it didn't go with his plan. Maybe by chance a prayer goes along with his plan and it seems like he answered it, but the outcome would have been the same even the the prayer hadn't been made.

Also, if you prayed for someone to live at a time of death. Why would he spare or not spare a life based on what you want, assuming you prayed for life?

according to some forms of christanity, praying to ask for something is incredibly selfish and is asking God to change his plan just for you and is wrong.

my mother in law always prayes that "lord, if you see fit within your great design, please let this and that happen, amen", as if asking politely changes her real intent. but really, if there's a God, I think he'd do whatever he darn well pleases.

Prayer is not for God so much as it is for us. It is how we bond with God personally, blossoming our relationship with him.

God will do what he sees as best to advance his kingdom. If that means that his answer to our requests is "No," then that's his prerogative.

And though he does have a plan, he doesn't force decisions on any of us. He may know every decision we are ever going to make, but he still allows us to be the ones to make those decisions.

God exists outside of time. He sees everything all at the same time as one moment. In other words "God is."

Praying makes a difference because it changes us. We become more like God when we pray. We become more accepting of his plan, whatever form that might take.

Things aren't always the way they seem grasshopper. Why do you seek understanding of God from men? Ask God and you will have a better chance of getting an answer but don't expect to find understanding if your conscience and pride will not allow you to talk to God because it would mean you have to acknowledge his existence.

God answers prayers in one of three ways, either #1Yes, #2 No, or #3, I have a better idea.

I believe most prayers are answered with #3

Notice the lack of response, Christians only say a certain amount of things when you pull the string on their back.
