It usually starts to shrink in a couple of weeks to a month. It'll probably continue to shrink for a couple weeks after that until it gets down to the right size.
Good luck!

(p.s. a piece of advice: If you plan on eating less to lose weight be aware of two things, 1. you can eat too LITTLE and 2. it's dangerous to go back and forth from dieting to not dieting repeatedly it can in fact lead to MAJOR health problems. In other words don't go for like a month dieting, a month not dieting, a month dieting, and so on.)

When I reduced my food intake, I just taught myself to eat slowly. Your stomach takes about 10 minutes to tell your brain it's full so if you eat fast, you eat extra for ten minutes. So I just started to eat super slow and I found out that I got full with less food. I used to be able to eat a full footlong sub from subway plus the chips and a drink. Now I can barely finish a 6" by itself. If you start eating slow, you get full and your stomach will shrink and you won't feel like you're starving to death.

Your stomach expands with the amount you consume, so if you consume less, your stomach will automatically shrink due to the smaller contents.
