The usual protocol is vaccinations done at 8, 12 & 16 weeks of age for distemper/parvo/canine hepatitis/adenovirus-2 and then rabies at 20 weeks or older.

Since your puppy has never been vaccinated and he is now 5 months old he will only need a series of 2 distemper/parvo/canine hepatitis/adenovirus-2..one now and then another in 4 weeks and he will also need his rabies vaccination.
Unless you live in an area of high exposure he will not need lepto, parainfluenza, lymes or bordatella (kennel cough).

NEVER give coronavirus, giardia or adenovirus-1 they are not recommended for any dog/puppy.
The above is the current recommended protocol from the AAHA/AVMA and all 27 vet schools.
For more info go to Dr Jean Dodds or Dr. Ron Schultz site. Also get a copy of the November 2006 Whole Dog Journal. It has a great article on vaccinating.

You are already WAYYY behind on the schedule for puppy vaccinations... PLEASE call the vet and make the appointment to get your pup current on shots ... this is NOT optional, your dog NEEDS to be protected. The shots are inexpensive compared to treatment for the infections and diseases that can strike an unprotected dog. You should also have your dog on a monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventative ... fleas are a nuisance, ticks can be serious, and heartworm can be deadly.

You should know that leptospirosis is a disease that can be transmitted from dogs to humans. It can cause kidney and liver damage, and is completely preventable by having your dog innoculated against it. The dog can contract this disease if it drinks from a puddle or a pond or a stream ... any water source that may have been contaminated by an infected animal. This is too important to ignore ... YOU are at risk unless your dog has been vaccinated ... just think about that the next time your pup gives you a "kiss"!

Please be a responsible dog-owner and get your pup the vet-care that he needs ... then you won't have to worry, because you'll know that he's safe and healthy. Good Luck!

i believe there are 3 stages and each stage includes 3 shots, so about 9 or 10 vaccination shots is what your puppy needs. since your pup is already 5 months old you need to bring him/her to the vet right away and get it started. you could go to a clinic which is a lot cheaper ($10 per shot) or go to the humane society and they would have a puppy package that will include all the shots. plus don't forget to get a rabis shot for your pup and get the certificate.

You can just take the puppy to the vet and ask for the standard puppy shots. They usually have something like a Puppy Package or something.

like to take chances with your pups health? take your dog to the vet and get some vaccines. your pup can catch a virus called parvo and it will cost 10 times as much as a vaccine would have and the dog could die anyway. follow your vet's reccomendation of what vaccines are needed and when and stick to it. start being a responsible pet owner now.

your puppy should have shots at 6,9,12,15 weeks but you should be able to call the vet and they can still have shots giving to them
