Dear Lord,
Thank you for getting me through this day and for protecting me and my family. I ask for you to bless me as I sleep. (And then ask forgiveness for your sins like so: And Lord please forgive me for those things that I've done and haven't done, for the things I have said and haven't said and for my bad thoughts. Please turn away from my iniquities and create within me a clean heart and a new fresh spirit so that I can wake up with a clean slate.) Personally I go on to ask the Lord to also be with all my loved ones and to help them sleep. Then: Thank you Lord for answering my prayers.

In Thy Name Amen.

That is what I pray at night but you can shorten that or go ahead and pray The Lord's Prayer which you can find in Matthew 6:9-13. The Lord just requires your prayers to be simple and sincere, that's all.

The best prayer comes from the heart. It is not necessary to pray in old English or Latin. Just talk to God in your normal voice and give thanks for the good things that happened that day, tell God what's on your mind and be sure to pray for others in need (both the ppl that you know personally and ppl who are less fortunate that you might not know personally).

First of all....I thank God for my salvation, and for water, electricity, gas, heat, shelter, food and clothing, and for this good country I live in. I thank Him for a sure dwelling, a peaceful habitation and a quiet resting place, according to the word of God.
I also ask Him to forgive me for things that I may not of said or done, that I should of .....and for things that I said or done that I should not of said or done. I then thank Him for the protection and as He never sleeps or slumbers I know that He watches over me while I do.
I also pray for others first before and then for my family the word of God over them.
Lastly I say goodnight my Father (as God is) Goodnight my Jesus, and goodnight my Holy Spirit. talk to you later and then I turn over and go to sleep.

Prayer isnt about meomorizing words and repeating them every night. Talk to God about your day before you go to sleep. Just talk to him like he is your friend: vent to him, ask him to help you with whatever struggles you have, thank him for everything he's given you. Make it personal...he deserves it :)

Rest Thou, my mind in Thee, dear Lord, give to me sweet repose....
Take weary flesh and troubled mind, in peace, my eyelids close.

I rest in Thee, complete secure, for in my soul is peace,
For Thou didst wash me clean today and gave my soul release.

Dear God, I thank Thee, here alone, as on my bed I pray, that Thou didst walk beside me throughout the heat of day.

And now I rest in Thee, alone, nor darkest night would fear,
For in the closing of my eyes I know that Thou art near.
