Not all ppl are the same, you just have to set your goals and standards and stick to them....There are many fish in the sea, but only one has your name on it....
Otherwise know what you want and expect it.. As parents we do this every day, and as young adults, we have to not settle for less.... Take pride in who you are. You don't have to be too picky, but picky enough to get what you want out of life and a relationship. Like for an example, I wanted to be with a guy that had a car, job, no kids, smoke free, fun, handsome, and is family oriented, all the other stuff too like gentle, no abusive, or reliant on one to carry the relationship.
You can do it, just stick to it.
Ppl refer it to like ridding a bike - if you fall off you have to get back on, otherwise your missing out on what is fun and freedom of not walking.

Try to find things you like to do on your own. It sounds like you adopted whatever your ex liked to do.
