Oh dear, those are horrible when they first start. Agreed it is a classic panic attack and they are horrible as you truly feel you are in death's grip. But see your doctor to make sure that is what is going on first and foremost.

One reason they keep happening is as you stated, you fear more of them. You fear them they will come. They are a nasty beast to beat. Something triggered the first to start the ball rolling stress wise. You had a fight/flight/freeze response ie. panic attack. Now that you fear a repeat it will keep going. If you take meds you are confirming in the subconsious this is bad... That area is where they come from with no consious control. But sometimes you need meds to help you get a grip long enough for therapy to teach you how to control them. Which ironically they teach you to lose control and let it happen without fear, give up "and die". So you prove to yourself they are truly harmless, they are by no means at all dangerous. That was horrible someone planted that here!

The medications are all addictive or develop a form of dependency. Meaning when you go off the meds you will have rebound attacks simply because you took the drug and you cannot take them forever. Doctors won't let you and you become tolerant needing more to do the same job.

Therapy can be done fairly quick if your are willing to do it and are very determined not to do dope, though I will admit it seems like an easy escape at first.

It boils down to repeated attacks are fear of fear. They come from fear and repeat as you are fearful of them again, which came from fear.

I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

Beat Anxiety And Panic Attacks Naturally?

Yep, sounds like panic attacks. The long-term solution is therapy, which has a fairly good success rate with anxiety disorders. You don't want to spend the rest of your life taking benzos, right? Hook up with a therapist. At the same time call your doctor. S/he will write you a 'script if the symptoms are severe. Btw, benzos (xanax, klonopin, etc) are highly addictive! That means that you may find yourself needing more and more to get the same effect. That's why therapy is the long-term solution.

Those are classic symptoms of a panic attack. There are a few things that might help you deal with them, at least until you learn to relieve the underlying stress that causes them. Motion does help with them (like the walking around you mentioned). Are you getting exercise? That REALLY helps with stress. So does tactile sensation, like lightly pulling a section of your hair, squeezing your hands, rubbing your palms, etcetera. One thing that seems to work is to walk yourself through your panic attack. Admit to yourself that you are indeed having a panic attack. When you know what's happening to you, you'll at least know that it's a panic attack and that you're not dying, and you'll be able to pass through the panicky stage more quickly.

Go to an emergency room at a hospital. Tell them that you want to kill yourself and why. After you're admitted, maybe the doctors can figure out how to stop these bad feelings. It may take some time, but it is important.Good Luck.
