She is walking hunched over now, and keeps yelping and licking herself. She is discharging, I think.. and crying when she pees and her vagina looks swollen. It is 1am here, and there's not much I can do. Is this normal? And if its not is there any human or children meds I can give her until the vets office opens?

It's not a period, its a heat cycle if she is swollen and bleeding there ! but she shouldn't be hurting or in pain !! sounds like she's having puppies??!!! has she been out before around other dogs(MALES), how old is she? If she keeps yelping like that you better find a pet emergency clinic to take her too tonight!! you should have a 24 hr. animal emg clinic there weree you live or near by !!! Dogs in heat cycle do not yelp and walk hunched over, only dogs having pups do though!! And could she be ?? if so then she may not be able to get it out and needs help ASAP !! or the pup will die and she is suffering !! Please call a emergency vet office now !!! Don't give her anything , NO MEDICINE !!!!!!

this is NOT normal.. A dog is in a LOT of pain if walking hunched over. She should go to the ER vet. She may have pyometria! Pyo is DEADLY if left untreated.

have you checked for an emergency vet? if she has a pyrometra ( uterine infection ) it is a dire emergency & can be fatal.

call your vets office for instructions - she can't wait until Monday

if you had her spayed this wouldn't be happening

Thanks to you being so DUMB and not spaying you pooch the minute she reached 18 months...she is now in serious pain. When she is no longer in heat ask the vet about spaying.
