www.theknot.com has a function where you can list all your guests and arrange their seats easily.

You can go to any wedding planning website... The Knot.... Wedding Wire.... and there will be a section on organizing guest and guest list. The Best way to do this is to get a piece of paper and outline the room. Once you have your guest list and you know how many people will be seated at each table, map out your tables and guest.

First you'd want to go to wherever you're having a wedding and have them show you a layout of the room, including where the DJ usually goes, where the food is going to be put, where the bathrooms are, etc, etc. Also, find out how many seats are arranged at each table... Draw your tables about where you would want them and arrange them according to families and friends, etc.

Some places have a certain way that they set up the tables, others will let you decide.

I didn't do one. *gasp* I let people sit where they wanted to. I did reserve the tables closest to the head table for immediate family but that was it.

People are going to sit with whomever they want to sit with eventually, why not for the whole reception? Saved me a lot of headaches.

The kids all say closest to the dance floor. They got up all through out the reception to dance and have a good time. Their parents could watch them and still have adult conversations.

It worked out great for me and no one complained - not even my mother in law!

you could ask your hall if they have a map of where all the tables are and then list each name in the circle representing the table! When i signed my contract i got a blank one with how seats etc would be arranged and ill just have to fill them in!

I did mine in microsoft excel. Each person/couple was a cell and I moved them around. Plus I had a second cell next to it with a head count. That way it was easy to add up the amount of people at a table.

I did it on plain paper.
Took the room
Think I only had 75 people.
In the circle put in my friends and then did the same for the wife.
It took about 45 minutes.
Can be done .... never saw a web site.
